Ernest Lawford
Ernest E. Lawford (1870–1940) was an English stage and film actor. Biography Lawford made his theatrical debut in 1890 in London at the St James's Theatre in ''As You Like It''. Later he appeared in productions of ''Charley's Aunt'' and ''A Woman of No Importance''. In 1894 appeared in several plays with Arnold Daly at the Drury Lane Theatre. He toured the provinces with George Alexander. He made his first appearance in New York in 1903 and appeared with Arnold Daly in ''Candida''. He later signed with Charles Frohman and appeared as the first American Mr. Darling in ''Peter Pan'' with Maude Adams. He remained with Frohman in drawing room type plays. He appeared with Grace George in ''Major Barbara'' in 1915, ''The Circle'' in 1921 with John Drew and Mrs. Leslie Carter and a modern-dress version of ''Hamlet'' in 1925 with Basil Sydney. John Drew Jr
John Drew Jr. (November 13, 1853 – July 9, 1927), commonly known as John Drew during his life, was an American stage actor noted for his roles in Shakespearean comedy, society drama, and light comedies. He was the eldest son of John Drew Sr., who had given up a blossoming career in whaling for acting, and Louisa Lane Drew, and the brother of Louisa Drew, Georgiana Drew, and Sidney Drew. As such, he was also the uncle of John, Ethel, and Lionel Barrymore, and also great-great-uncle to Drew Barrymore. He was considered to be the leading matinee idol of his day, but unlike most matinee idols Drew's acting ability was largely undisputed. Life Drew was educated at a fine academy in Philadelphia, but the life of the theater would become his primary focus at a young age. Grace George
Grace George (December 25, 1879 – May 19, 1961) was a prominent American stage actress, who had a long career on Broadway stage and also appeared in two films. Biography Grace George was born on December 25, 1879. She married producer William A. Brady, a widower, and was stepmother to his daughter, actress Alice Brady. George starred as ''Esther'' in the hugely successful 1899 Broadway adaptation of '' Ben Hur'' from Lew Wallace's novel. George appeared in a silent film called ''Tainted Money'' in 1915. In 1935, she gave an acclaimed performance as Mary Herries in Edward Chodorov's thriller, '' Kind Lady'', at the Booth Theatre. She appeared in the film, '' Johnny Come Lately'' in 1943 with James Cagney. In 1950, she was awarded the Delia Austrian medal. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Tom Donahue (Meighan), a Fifth Avenue traffic policeman from New York City, wins a trip to Ireland in a newspaper contest. ''A Good Little Devil'' is a 1914 silent film starring Mary Pickford, produced by Adolph Zukor and Daniel Frohman, and distributed on a 'State's Rights' basis. It was Pickford's first feature-length film. She, along with friend Lillian Gish, appeared in the 1913 Broadway play version of the story prior to the film being made. Much of the cast of the play appeared in the film version. This film is essentially lost, with only one of the five reels surviving, along with a five-second clip in the 1931 film ''The House That Shadows Built''.
