Ernest Boulanger (politician)
Ernest Boulanger (12 October 1831 in Nantillois, Meuse – 19 October 1907 in Paris) was a French politician and economist. Senator of the Meuse from 1886 to 1907, he participated very actively in the budget discussions. For many years he served as vice-president of the Committee on Finance. Nantillois
Nantillois () is a commune in the Meuse department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. Nantillois is situated on the D15 between Montfaucon and Romagne-sous-Montfaucon. World War One, the Meuse-Argonne Offensive Nantillois was almost totally destroyed during World War One. It was occupied by the Germans for a little over 4 years, and liberated by the Americans on 28 September 1918, as part of the Meuse-Argonne Offensive which started on 26 September 1918. Several monuments are erected to commemorate the events of 1914–1918. The most important ones are the Nantillois German Cemetery (918 graves), the community building on the main street erected to commemorate the 315th Regiment of the 79th Division who liberated the village and the memorial fountain erected for the men of the 80th Division. Meuse () is a department in northeast France, named after the River Meuse. Meuse is part of the current region of Grand Est and is landlocked and borders by the French departments of Ardennes, Marne, Haute-Marne, Vosges, Meurthe-et-Moselle, and Belgium to the north. Jean Casimir-Perier
Jean Paul Pierre Casimir-Perier (; 8 November 1847 – 11 March 1907) was a French politician who served as President of France from 1894 to 1895. Biography He was born in Paris, the son of Auguste Casimir-Perier, the grandson of Casimir Pierre Perier, premier of Louis Philippe, and the great grandson of Claude Périer, one of the founders of the Bank of France. He entered public life as secretary to his father, who was Minister of the Interior under the presidency of Thiers. In 1874 he was elected General Councillor of the Aube ''département'', and was sent by the same ''département'' to the Chamber of Deputies in the general elections of 1876, and he was always re-elected until his presidency. In spite of the traditions of his family, Casimir-Perier joined the group of Republicans on the Left, and was one of the 363 on the Seize-Mai (1877).
