Erin Morrissey
Erin Kathleen Morrissey (born March 28, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Erica Hopson. She is a former provincial junior, university and mixed champion. Career In 2005 Morrissey's Rideau Curling Club rink won the Provincial junior championships. At the 2005 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, the team did not fare well however, finishing third last with a 4-8 record. Morrissey would then attend the University of Western Ontario. In 2009, she would win the OUA championship for Western. In 2010, Morrissey won the ''2011'' provincial mixed title playing third for Chris Gardner. Later in the year, they finished 4th at the 2011 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. Morrissey played for the Chaffeys Locks, Ontario-based Lisa Farnell rink from 2009 to 2014. Ontario University Athletics (OUA; french: Sports universitaires de l'Ontario) is a regional membership association for Canadian universities which assists in co-ordinating competition between their university level athletic programs and providing contact information, schedules, results, and releases about those programs and events to the public and the media. 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2016 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 18 to 24 at the Brampton Curling Club in Brampton, Ontario. The winning Jenn Hanna rink represented Ontario at the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The final featured two rinks from the Ottawa Curling Club, the #1 ranked team in the world, skipped by Rachel Homan against 2005 Tournament of Hearts runner up Jenn Hanna, making her first provincial appearance since 2012, after taking a few seasons off. Hanna beat the Homan team 10–8 in the final, an upset as the Homan team had only lost one event all season, and led both the World Curling Tour Order of Merit ranking and money list at the time (while Hanna was ranked 69th and 80th respectively). Ontario Curling Tour
The Ontario Curling Tour is a group of curling bonspiels, which takes places in Ontario, Canada and attracts some of the top male and female curlers in the province, and from across the country and world. The OCT was designed to promote competitive curling from a grass root level. The events for the Ontario Curling Tour begin at the end of August and typically run until December, with occasional events taking place in January. Several of the events on the Ontario Curling Tour are also included in the World Curling Tour. All events on the Ontario Curling Tour, much like those on World Curling Tour, contain a prize purse for the winning teams, and award CTRS (Canadian Team Ranking System) points to the Canadian teams competing. CTRS points qualify teams for the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials and events such as the Canada Cup of Curling. Lisa Farnell
Lisa Farnell (born September 23, 1986 in Toronto) is a Canadian-English curler originally from Peterborough, Ontario. She was the skip of the Ontario team at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In 2006, Farnell and her team of Kim Brown, Darrelle Johnson and Amber Gebhardt won the provincial junior championships, earning the right to represent Ontario at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Thunder Bay, Ontario. At the Canadian Juniors, the team finished with a 5-6 record, tied for sixth place. Farnell would later team up with 2005 provincial champion skip Erin Morrissey to form a competitive team on the women's World Curling Tour. The team made it to their first provincial women's championship in 2010, where they finished with a 5-4 record before losing in a tie-breaker match. Chris Gardner (curler)
Christopher James Gardner (born March 25, 1985 in Ottawa) is a Canadian curler who competes mainly in Ontario. Career Gardner skipped his bantam mixed team to a provincial championship in 2002, and the following year he won the provincial junior mixed title. Gardner's men's team, which he skips, has had some success on the provincial curling tour circuit. In 2009, they made their first provincial championship, finishing with a 3-6 record. He played in his second provincial championship in 2010, finishing in last with a 1-9 record. In April 2010, Gardner won the 2011 provincial mixed championship as skip, earning him the right to play in the 2011 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship with Erin Morrissey at third, Brad Kidd at second and Kim Brown at lead.
