Erik Himle
Erik Himle (10 April 1924 – 30 July 2008) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. Himle graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1948, and from the NATO Defence College in 1957. He was never elected as a politician, but worked himself upwards as a civil servant in Norwegian government ministries. During the third cabinet Gerhardsen he became state secretary to the Minister of Defense 1958–1961 and to the Minister of Transport 1962–1963. In the fourth cabinet Gerhardsen he was appointed Minister of Trade and Shipping 1963–1964 and Minister of Transport 1964–1965. His last period as a state secretary was in the Office of the Prime Minister during the first cabinet Bratteli from 1971 to 1972. He continued as the permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Defence 1967–1971 and 1973–1978 and in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy 1978–1988. Karl-Edwin Manshaus
Karl-Edwin Manshaus (born 19 February 1940) is a Norwegian businessperson and civil servant. He was born in Bergen, and holds the cand.jur. degree. He was hired in the Norwegian Ministry of Industry in 1970, then in the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in 1978 where he became deputy under-secretary of state. From 1984 to 1987 he served as counsellor in energy affairs at the Norwegian embassy in the United States. From 1988 to 2004 he was the permanent under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, the highest-ranking bureaucratic position. Because of a reorganization, his ministry was merged to form the Ministry of Industry and Energy in 1993, but a Ministry of Petroleum and Energy was re-formed in 1997. Caspar Stephansen
Caspar Stephansen (23 July 1923 – 11 April 1996) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Kragerø. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany he fled to Sweden and took part in the exiled police corps Rikspolitikorpset. Bjørn Larsen
Bjørn Larsen (3 April 1922 – 3 November 2007) was a Norwegian economist and civil servant. He was born in Sandefjord. He graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1947. He worked one year at the University of Oslo, then as a consultant in the Norwegian Price Directorate from 1948 to 1952. He applied for an assistant secretary position in the Ministry of Trade 1952, but Larsen being the best qualified applicant, Minister of Trade Erik Brofoss rejected him because he was needed in the Price Directorate. He was instead hired as an assistant secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Fana is a borough of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The borough makes up the southeastern part of the municipality of Bergen.
