Eric Lu (born December 15, 1997) is an American classical pianist. Hailed by ''The Guardian'' as a pianist with "the magic touch of...Murray Perahia and Radu Lupu", he won the gold medal at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018 at age 20. He records for Warner Classics under an exclusive contract, and has performed with many of the world's major orchestras including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, and Orchestre national de Lille; upcoming debuts include appearances as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra. Vasily Eduardovich Petrenko (russian: Васи́лий Эдуа́рдович Петре́нко; born 7 July 1976) is a Russian-British conductor. He is currently chief conductor of the European Union Youth Orchestra, music director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and principal conductor of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation. The International German Piano Award is a yearly international music competition for classical piano music since 2011. The International Piano Forum is the initiator and organizer of the competition. The prize money amounts to a total of 20,000 euros and aims to support outstanding Pianists. A first international jury elects and nominates pianists under notary procedure. Duszniki-Zdrój (; cs, Dušníky; german: Bad Reinerz), often simplified to Duszniki, is a spa town in Kłodzko Valley and Kłodzko County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in southwestern Poland. As of December 2021, the town has a population of 4,329. Situated on the Bystrzyca River, it attracts tourists from Poland and around the world. History The settlement was mentioned in 1324. It was granted town rights in 1346. Until 1595 it remained in private hands. A trade route connecting Silesia and Bohemia ran through the town, contributing to its development. Weaving and paper production developed, as well as the iron industry, but the local iron deposits quickly depleted. The XVII International Chopin Piano Competition ( pl, XVII Międzynarodowy Konkurs Pianistyczny im. Fryderyka Chopina) was held in Warsaw on April 13–24, 2015 (preliminary round) and October 1–23, 2015 (main competition and concerts). Prize winners' concerts were on October 21–23, 2015. Jonathan Biss (born September 18, 1980) is an American pianist, teacher, and writer based in Philadelphia. He is the co-artistic director (with Mitsuko Uchida) of the Marlboro Music Festival.
