Eric Campbell (actor)
Alfred Eric Campbell (26 April 1879 – 20 December 1917) was a Scottish actor. He was a key member of Charlie Chaplin's film ensemble, invariably playing an intimidating bully, and appeared in eleven of Chaplin's films before he was killed in a car crash at the age of 38. He is the subject of a documentary by filmmaker Kevin Macdonald. Early life Campbell was previously believed to have been born in Scotland in Dunoon, traditional Clan Campbell country, but he is now thought to have been born in Cheshire. Most sources give his year of birth as 1879, but online birth records show that the birth of an Alfred Eric Campbell was registered in Altrincham in April–June 1880; no birth with this name was registered in Cheshire in 1879. Eric Campbell (born August 22, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Spring Hill College. Career Campbell began his professional career in 1999 in Israel with Elitzur Kiryat Ata, and played there three seasons. From 2002 to 2005 he played with Ironi Nahariya. In 2005, Campbell signed with Le Mans Sarthe Basket. With them he played for the first time in the Euroleague in the 2006–07 season, and was named MVP of week 2. Eric Campbell, (11 April 1893 – 2 September 1970) was an Australian army officer and solicitor who was the leader of the far-right organisation, the New Guard in New South Wales. He created the New Guard as a deviation of an existing paramilitary group called the Old Guard. Campbell had grown frustrated with the direction the group was headed in and so he aimed to revive the Old Guard's original ideology within the New Guard. He also aimed to directly oppose Jack Lang's Labour Party in New South Wales and endorsed his fellow Guardsmen to interfere in Lang's public political activities. Campbell was born in Young, New South Wales. He became a solicitor in 1919 and worked in various regions around New South Wales. Sir Eric Campbell Geddes (26 September 1875 – 22 June 1937) was a British businessman and Conservative politician. With a background in railways, he served as head of Military Transportation on the Western Front, with the rank of major-general. He then served as First Lord of the Admiralty (with the rank of vice-admiral, despite its being a political position) between 1917 and 1919. He then served as the first Minister of Transport between 1919 and 1921, in which position he was responsible for the deep public spending cuts known as the "Geddes Axe". The Eric-Campbell was a British car made from 1919 to 1924 by Eric-Campbell & Co Limited of Cricklewood, London. The company was formed by H Eric Orr-Ewing and Noel Macklin, Noel Campbell Macklin. Manufacturing Eric-Campbell was formed by H Eric Orr-Ewing and Noel Macklin, Noel Campbell Macklin. Macklin subsequently founded Silver Hawk (car), Silver Hawk, Invicta (car), Invicta and Railton (car), Railton car manufacturers. Manufacturing took place in the factory of the Handley Page aircraft company in Cricklewood London. It is estimated that as many as 500 cars might have been made. Demise Macklin left the company in 1920 to concentrate on his Silver Hawk (car), Silver Hawk car and by 1921 Eric-Campbell were in financial difficulties.
