Erciyesspor
Kayseri Erciyesspor was a Turkish sports club based in Kayseri. History In 1965, Orhan Şefik Apak, then president of the Turkish Football Federation, asked cities in Turkey to combine their amateur football clubs into one singular club that would represent their communities. These new clubs would compete in the newly created 2.Lig (Second Division). After several meetings, representatives of the city merged Erciyesspor, Sanayispor, and Ortaanadoluspor to form Kayserispor. The club submitted the required paperwork and were officially founded as Kayserispor on 1 July 1966. They began competing in the 1966–67 2.Lig. Erdoğan Gürhan was the first manager, signing a contract worth 1,500 TL. In their first season, the club competed in the Beyaz Grup (White Group). Yener scored the first goal in club history when he netted a shot in the 17th minute against Ankara Toprakspor. Kayserispor
Kayseri Spor Kulübü, commonly known as Kayserispor, is a Turkish professional football club based in Kayseri. They play their home matches at the Kadir Has Stadium in red and yellow kits. The team has won one Turkish Cup in 2008 and also finished as Turkish Super Cup runners-up in the same year. They finished fifth in the Turkish Super League four times, in 2005–06, 2006–07, 2007–08, and 2012–13. Internationally, Kayserispor was one of the co-winners of the 2006 Intertoto Cup. Samet Aybaba (born 3 February 1955, in Osmaniye) is a UEFA Pro Licensed Turkish football manager and former player. Career He was born 2 March 1955 in Adana. He began a football career in İskenderunspor. He transferred to Beşiktaş JK in 1977–78 season. He played as defender and midfielder in Beşiktaş JK. He played 334 matches for Beşiktaş and scored 7 goals. He won 2 League Championships, 1 Presidency Cup, 1 Prime Ministry Cup and 2 TSYD Cups and retired after finishing the 1987–88 season. He coached clubs such as Ankaragücü, Kayserispor, Vanspor, Adana Demirspor, Gençlerbirliği, Gaziantepspor, Trabzonspor and Ankaraspor. The TFF 1. Lig, officially known as Spor Toto 1. Lig for sponsorship reasons, is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called ''Türk Telekom Lig A'' in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to ''TFF First League'' prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. Sivasspor Kulübü, known as Demir Grup Sivasspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish sports club based in Sivas. The primary department of the club is men's football. Formed in 1967, its football department competes in Süper Lig, as of 2017–18 season. Kayseri Atatürk Stadium
Kayseri Atatürk Stadium, opened in 1964, was a multi-purpose stadium in Kayseri, Turkey. It was mainly used for football matches, and was shared by the two largest clubs in the region, Kayserispor who currently play in the Süper Lig and Kayseri Erciyesspor who were last season relegated into the Turkish Second Division. The stadium was able to hold 26,500 people, and was mostly uncovered. During a match between Kayseri Erciyesspor and Sivasspor on September 17, 1967, it was the location of the worst sporting-related disaster occurred in Turkey. In 2009, it was replaced by Kadir Has Stadium, located on a different site with a capacity in excess of 32,000 seats. Kayseri Atatürk Stadium was demolished and its land will host a multi-use real estate project, including a shopping mall, hotel, offices, and residential buildings. 2007–08 UEFA Cup
The 2007–08 UEFA Cup was the 37th edition of the UEFA Cup, UEFA's second-tier club football tournament. The final was played at the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, England on 14 May 2008 between Rangers of Scotland and Zenit Saint Petersburg of Russia. Zenit won the match 2–0, with goals from Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyryanov, to claim their first UEFA Cup title.
