Entreat
''Entreat'' is a live album by British alternative rock band The Cure, recorded at London's Wembley Arena in July 1989. It consists entirely of songs performed from the band's 1989 record '' Disintegration''; while they were on their international Prayer tour. Initially, ''Entreat'' was distributed exclusively in France as a promotional tool in 1989 and then was given away free by HMV stores in the UK and Ireland to customers who purchased two CDs from the band's back catalogue in May 1990. It was then given a full commercial release in March 1991. The last two tracks were released in 1989 as B-sides to the US version of "Lullaby". "Fascination Street", "Last Dance", "Prayers For Rain", and "Disintegration" were also included as B-sides on the " Pictures of You" CD single. The re-release of ''Disintegration'' in 2010 featured a remastered and remixed version of ''Entreat'', entitled ''Entreat Plus'' because it featured all twelve songs from the album, including the four exclude ... Boris Williams
Boris Peter Bransby Williams (born 24 April 1957) is a French-born English drummer best known for his extensive work with the Cure (1984–1994). Biography Born in Versailles, France, he had previously worked with various artists, including Thompson Twins, Kim Wilde, Strawberry Switchblade and Tomato City. Williams is one of seven children; he has two brothers - Michael and Morgan - and four sisters - Juliet, Caroline, Mira, and Sarah. Williams dated Caroline Crawley, lead singer of Shelleyan Orphan. Williams first joined The Cure in 1984 (first gig on 7 November in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA), replacing Andy Anderson, who was fired for destroying a hotel room after a racially motivated incident with a security guard. ''Disintegration'' is the eighth studio album by English rock band the Cure, released on 2 May 1989 by Fiction Records. The record marks a return to the introspective gothic rock style the band had established in the early 1980s. As he neared the age of 30, vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith had felt an increased pressure to follow up on the band's pop successes with a more enduring work. This, coupled with a distaste for the group's newfound popularity, caused Smith to lapse back into the use of hallucinogenic drugs, the effects of which had a strong influence on the production of the album. The band recorded the album at Hookend Recording Studios in Checkendon, Oxfordshire, with co-producer David M. Allen from late 1988 to early 1989. Roger O'Donnell
Roger O'Donnell (born 29 October 1955) is an English keyboardist best known for his work with The Cure. O'Donnell has also performed in The Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins and Berlin, as well as having an active solo career. Background O'Donnell was born in East London into a musical family, next to the piano in his parents' London home. O'Donnell attended art school but left to pursue a career as a professional musician, with his first paying gig coming in 1976, at Oxford Town Hall backing legendary British pop icon Arthur Brown. O'Donnell joined the Thompson Twins as a live keyboardist in July 1983, playing alongside future Cure bandmate and drummer Boris Williams. ''Mixed Up'' is a remix album by English rock band the Cure, released on 20 November 1990 by Fiction Records. The songs are remixes of some of their hits, reflecting the popularity of remixing of existing songs and dance culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2018, a sequel was released titled ''Torn Down''. Most of the songs are extended mixes. Several had been previously released on 12" singles, but some are completely remade, with Smith recutting vocals due to the original tapes not being available. The record closes with the extended version of a new single, " Never Enough". The remix of "Pictures of You" was originally released under the title "(Strange Mix)". Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the rock band the Cure, which he co-founded in 1978. "Fascination Street" is a 1989 North-American-only single by the English rock band The Cure from their album '' Disintegration''. Their American record company refused the band's original choice "Lullaby" as the first single (it was the lead single in the UK and was released in the U.S. later) and used "Fascination Street" instead. Simon Jonathon Gallup (born 1 June 1960) is an English musician and bassist with the alternative rock band The Cure. He is the second longest-serving member of the band after lead vocalist/guitarist Robert Smith. Early years Born in Duxhurst, Surrey, Simon's family moved to Horley in 1961 where he attended Horley Infants and Junior Schools until 1971, followed by Horley Balcombe Road Comprehensive to 1976.
