''The Head on the Door'' is the sixth studio album by English rock band the Cure. It was released on 30 August 1985 by Fiction Records. Preceded by the single "In Between Days" which had reached No. 15 on the UK Singles Chart, ''The Head on the Door'' was described by ''Melody Maker'' as "a collection of pop songs". With its variety of styles, it allowed the group to reach a wider audience in both Europe and North America. In the United Kingdom it became their most successful album to date, entering the albums chart at No. 7 on 7 September. The album is the first to feature drummer Boris Williams. Bassist Simon Gallup, who had previously worked on three major Cure albums of the early 1980s, was called back before the recording. Finsbury Park
Finsbury Park is a public park in the London neighbourhood of Harringay. It is in the area formerly covered by the historic parish of Hornsey, succeeded by the Municipal Borough of Hornsey. It was one of the first of the great London parks laid out in the Victorian era. The park borders the neighbourhoods of Harringay, Finsbury Park, Stroud Green, and Manor House. Finsbury Park should not be confused with Finsbury, which is a district of Central London roughly to the south, forming the south-eastern part of the London Borough of Islington. History Before the park The park was landscaped on the northeastern extremity of what was originally a woodland area in the Manor or Prebend of Brownswood. It was part of a large expanse of woodland called Hornsey Wood that was cut further and further back for use as grazing land during the Middle Ages. In the mid-18th century a tea room had opened on the knoll of land on which Finsbury Park is situated. Londoners would travel north t ...

Mixed Up (The Cure Album)
''Mixed Up'' is a remix album by English rock band the Cure, released on 20 November 1990 by Fiction Records. The songs are remixes of some of their hits, reflecting the popularity of remixing of existing songs and dance culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 2018, a sequel was released titled ''Torn Down''. Most of the songs are extended mixes. Several had been previously released on 12" singles, but some are completely remade, with Smith recutting vocals due to the original tapes not being available. The record closes with the extended version of a new single, " Never Enough". The remix of "Pictures of You" was originally released under the title "(Strange Mix)". In an interview featured on the ''Trilogy'' DVD, singer Robert Smith described the remix album as something "fun after the doom and gloom of '' Disintegration''". Staring At The Sea
''Standing on a Beach'' (titled ''Staring at the Sea'' in CD format in some countries) is a singles compilation album released by English rock band The Cure in May 1986, marking a decade since the band's founding in 1976. The album's titles are both taken from the opening lyrics of the Cure's debut single, " Killing an Arab". The "New Voice - New Mix" of " Boys Don't Cry" (released as a single little over a fortnight before ''Standing on a Beach'') was not included on the album; thus the album's singles span only from 1978 to 1985. The version of "A Forest" here is neither the album version (which was also on the 12" single), nor is it the 7" single edit (which removes a few bars between verses and fades out part way through the guitar solo ending). The album was critically acclaimed. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it "one of the finest albums of the '80s". Release formats The album was released in six formats: vinyl record, compact disc, audio cassette, laser disc ...

Show (The Cure Album)
''Show'' is a live album released in 1993 by the British alternative rock band The Cure. It was recorded live over two nights at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) in 1992, during the successful ''Wish'' tour. ''Show'' was also released as a concert video. This live album was released along with ''Paris'', which was recorded in Paris. ''Show'' leaned somewhat more towards the band's poppier and more recent material such as "Just Like Heaven", "Pictures of You" and "Friday I'm in Love" while ''Paris'' skewed towards their older cult-classics. Track listing ''Show'' is a double-CD release in most cases. There are various versions with differing track listings. The US version is the only one-disc edition. The songs which did not fit onto the US disc ("Tape", "Fascination Street", "The Walk" and "Let's Go to Bed") were released as the EP ''Sideshow''. The CD-i version contains extra tracks. Disc one # "Tape" – 2:25 # "Open" (''Wish'') – 7: ...

Paris (The Cure Album)
''Paris'' is a live album recorded by The Cure at Le Zénith de Paris, in October 1992 during their ''Wish'' tour, but released in October 1993. The band announced the album in July 1993. ''Paris'' was released at the same time as '' Show'', which was recorded in the United States. The album features more cult classics like "The Figurehead" and "One Hundred Years" than ''Show'', which is generally more single-friendly. 50% of the royalties earned by the album were given to the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement charities in support of their international relief work. In mid-1996, ''Billboard'' reported that ''Paris'' had sold 95,000 copies in the United States by that point, much less than the 213,000 copies of ''Show'' sold there by the same point. The magazine described the release of the album "within a few weeks" of ''Show'' as exemplifying the "unorthodox career path" that the band had taken. Michele Kirsch of '' Vox'' praised the album's "top shelf sound engineers" a ...

''Entreat'' is a live album by British alternative rock band The Cure, recorded at London's Wembley Arena in July 1989. It consists entirely of songs performed from the band's 1989 record '' Disintegration''; while they were on their international Prayer tour. Initially, ''Entreat'' was distributed exclusively in France as a promotional tool in 1989 and then was given away free by HMV stores in the UK and Ireland to customers who purchased two CDs from the band's back catalogue in May 1990. It was then given a full commercial release in March 1991. The last two tracks were released in 1989 as B-sides to the US version of "Lullaby". "Fascination Street", "Last Dance", "Prayers For Rain", and "Disintegration" were also included as B-sides on the " Pictures of You" CD single. The re-release of ''Disintegration'' in 2010 featured a remastered and remixed version of ''Entreat'', entitled ''Entreat Plus'' because it featured all twelve songs from the album, including the four exclude ...
