Enterprise Football League 2008
The 2008 season of the Enterprise Football League (also known as the Fubon Enterprise Football League) was held from January 5 to April 27, 2008. With 4 college teams also participating, the number of competing teams increased from 4 to 8. The 2007 league champion Taiwan Power Company F.C. successfully defended the title. At the end of 2008, the Chinese Taipei Football Association decided to merge the Enterprise Football League into the Intercity Football League. As a result, this was the last Enterprise Football League season. Teams The 2008 league season consisted of 8 teams, 4 of which were existing teams from the 2007 season: Taipower (台電), Tatung (大同), Chinese Taipei U-23 (as Fubon Financial, 富邦), and the National Sports Training Center football team (國訓). Enterprise Football League
The Enterprise Football League (), formerly known as the National Football League () or the National First Division Football League (), was the highest-ranked football league in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was governed by the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) and considered semi-professional. The competition was ended in 2009 following a change in regulations and a merger into the Intercity Football League. History The National Football League was founded by the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) in 1982 after popular interest motivated by 1982 FIFA World Cup. Chuang Wei-lun (; born 17 March 1982) is a Taiwanese people, Taiwanese football player who currently plays for Tatung F.C. and the Chinese Taipei national football team. He is fit either as a Striker (association football), striker or as a midfielder. When he played for Tatung F.C., he was voted the best right winger in the Chinese Taipei National Football League 2005 season. On February 9, 2007, Grulla Morioka of Japanese Tohoku League announced Chuang's transfer in their official site. He became the second Taiwanese male player to join a Japanese professional football club, following goalkeeper Lu Kun-chi. Grulla Morioka had a formal press conference for them on March 4, 2007, in which Chuang expressed his desire to help the team for promotion. 2009 AFC President's Cup
The 2009 AFC President's Cup was the fifth edition of the AFC President's Cup, a competition for football clubs in countries categorized as "emerging nations" by the Asian Football Confederation. Eleven teams competed for the title and were split up into three groups, playing each other team in their group once. The winner of each group and the best runner-up qualified for the semifinals, and the winners of the semifinal matches played in the final match to determine the winner. Each group was to be played over a period of days in May and June at one venue - Group A at Dashrath Stadium, Nepal, Group B at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka and Group C at Spartak Stadium, Bishkek.
