Ensign is a hamlet in southern Alberta, Canada within Vulcan County. It is located approximately south of Highway 23 and southeast of Calgary. The community was named for the Canadian Red Ensign. Hamlets in the province of Alberta, Canada, are unincorporated communities administered by, and within the boundaries of, specialized municipalities or rural municipalities ( municipal districts, improvement districts and special areas).
