Enrique De La Mata
Enrique de la Mata (September 20, 1933 – September 6, 1987) was a Spanish parliamentarian, lawyer and minister. He was the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 1981 to 1987. After the end of the Francoist State with Caudillo Franco's death in 1975 and the Spanish transition to democracy, he was Minister for Trade Union Relations from 5 July 1976 to 4 July 1977 in an interim government, officiating up until the first free elections, and in this role contributed to allowing the trade unions back into Spain. He joined the Union of the Democratic Centre and was elected to the Spanish Congress of Deputies representing Teruel Province Teruel (Catalan: ''Terol'' ) is a province of Aragon, in the northeast of Spain. Minister For Trade Union Relations
The Minister for Trade Union Relations was a Spanish Cabinet, Spanish cabinet position. The holder was considered a minister without portfolio and was responsible for the relations between the Government of Spain, Government and the Spanish Syndical Organization (known as ''Sindicato Vertical'', the only union allowed during the Francoist Spain, Francoist regime). The position was active during the last years of the dictatorship and it was not just responsible for the relations with the Trade Union but the direct management of it. The minister chaired the main bodies of the Trade Union. Created by the Trade Union Act of 1971, the office existed until 1977 when the freedom of assembly and of Freedom of association, association were approved and it started the process to disband the Trade Union Organization. Justice Adefarasin
Honourable Justice Joseph Adetunji Adefarasin (1921 – 28 March 1989) was a Nigerian lawyer and High Court judge. He was one of the foremost students of Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos from 1932 to 1939 and studied law at University of London from 1946 to 1949. Joseph Adefarasin was the Second Chief of Judge of Lagos from 1 November 1974 to 24 April 1985. He was the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 1977 to 1981. He was the first African to hold this position and was awarded the Henry Dunant Medal, which is the highest World Red Cross award. He was married to Hilda Adefarasin. 1979 Spanish General Election
The 1979 Spanish general election was held on Thursday, 1 March 1979, to elect the 1st Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain. All 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies were up for election, as well as all 208 seats in the Senate. This was the first election held under the Spanish Constitution of 1978. The Union of the Democratic Centre (UCD) remained the largest party, winning 168 of the 350 seats in the Congress of Deputies and 119 of the 208 seats in the Senate.
