Enrico Anselmi
Enrico Anselmi was an Italian racing driver, who made a name for himself racing Lancias in the early 1950s. Racing career Enrico Anselmi, raced internationally, primarily in sportscars between 1947 and 1957, mainly in Lancia Aprilias and Lancia Aurelias. In 1952, his big break came when Scuderia Lancia offer him the chance to drive a works Aurelia in les 24 Heures de Mans, where partnered Felice Bonetto to eighth place overall. During this period, he enjoyed some success, scoring his only race win, in the 1951 non-championship Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti and finished second in the 6 Ore di Pescara. In addition, he also won his class on the Mille Miglia that season. He repeated this feat the following season and claimed another class win. 1953 Mille Miglia
The 1953 Mille Miglia, was the second round of the 1953 F.I.A. World Sportscar Championship and was held on the open-road of Italy, on 26 April 1953. The route was based on a round trip between Brescia and Rome, with start/finish, in Brescia. A total of 577 cars were entered 1953 running of the Mille Miglia, across eight classes based on engine sizes, ranging from up to 750 cc to over 2.0 litre, for both Touring Cars and Sport Cars. Fiat 1100 (1937)
The Fiat 1100 is a small family car produced from 1937 to 1953 by the Italian car manufacturer Fiat. It was introduced in 1937 as Fiat 508 C or Balilla 1100, as a replacement for the Fiat 508 Balilla. Under the new body the 508 C had more modern and refined mechanicals compared to the 508, including independent front suspension and an enlarged overhead valve engine. In 1939 it was updated and renamed simply Fiat 1100. The 1100 was produced in three consecutive series—1100, 1100 B and 1100 E—until 1953, when it was replaced by the all-new, unibody Fiat 1100/103. Giannino Marzotto
Count Giannino Marzotto (13 April 1928 in Valdagno, Italy – 14 July 2012) was an Italian racing driver and entrepreneur. Marzotto served as President of the Mille Miglia Club and won the Mille Miglia race in 1950 and 1953. Career He was one of four sons of Count Gaetano Marzotto. Soon after his 20th birthday, he entered his father's Lancia Aprilia in the Giro di Sicilia and finished second in class (16th overall). Marzotto met Enzo Ferrari in 1948 with the task to build a 2L Grand Touring Coupe, which is believed to be the fourth customer car even built by Ferrari, a Ferrari 166 Inter. He started racing with an Aprilia for an Italian National Championship Event in 1948. It was the 21st Mille Miglia and the third race of the 1954 World Sportscar Championship.
