Per Olov Enquist
Per Olov Enquist, also known as P. O. Enquist, (23 September 1934 – 25 April 2020) was a Swedish author. He had worked as a journalist, playwright and novelist. Biography Enquist was born and raised in , a village in present-day Skellefteå Municipality, Västerbotten. He was the only son of a single mother, who became a widow when he was half a year old. In his youth, he was a promising athlete with a high jump personal best of 1.97 meters. He studied at Uppsala University, receiving a degree in the history of literature. During his time in Uppsala he started writing, his first novel ''Kristallögat'' being published in 1961, and became a newspaper journalist. Enquist won the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 1968 for '' Legionärerna'', his account of Sweden's deportation of Baltic-country soldiers at the end of the second world war which also became his international breakthrough. Jan Enquist
Rear Admiral Jan Fredrik Enquist (3 August 1925 – 21 August 2005) was a Swedish Navy officer. Enquist's senior commands include as Chief of the Coastal Fleet from 1982 to 1985 and as Commanding Admiral of the Western Military District from 1985 to 1989. Early life Enquist was born on 3 August 1925 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of professor and his wife Greta (née Ekecrantz). He grew up in Uppsala and Gothenburg. After passing ''studentexamen'' from Vasa högre allmänna läroverk in Gothenburg in 1944, he was accepted as an officer candidate at the Royal Swedish Naval Academy in Stockholm. Career Enquist was commissioned as an naval officer in the Swedish Navy with the rank of acting sub-lieutenant in 1947. He was promoted to sub-lieutenant in 1949 and was trained in the torpedo officer program and served during the subaltern years mainly on destroyers. Sue Enquist
Susan Enquist (born August 24, 1957) is a former softball player and coach. She played softball at UCLA under Sharron Backus from 1975 to 1978. She helped lead UCLA to its first national softball championship in the 1978 Women's College World Series and became UCLA's first All-American softball player. Playing career Her career batting average of .401 was the UCLA team record for 24 years. She also played for the Raybestos Brakettes and helped lead the team to Amateur Softball Association national championships in 1976, 1977, 1978, and 1980. Coaching career After receiving a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 1980, Enquist joined the coaching staff of the UCLA softball team. She was an assistant coach under Sharron Backus from 1980 to 1988. In 1989, she was appointed as the co-head coach with Backus, a position she held for eight years from 1989 to 1996. Jeff Enquist
Jeff Enquist (born May 20, 1968 in Beaverton, Oregon) was a U.S. soccer forward who played two seasons in the Western Soccer League, one in the American Professional Soccer League and one in the USISL. He has coached extensively at the professional, collegiate and high school levels. He is currently the president of the Portland Youth Soccer Association and the head coach of the Portland City United Soccer Club. Player Enquist was an outstanding prep player with Beaverton High School. He was the 1986 Oregon High School of the Year and Parade Magazine High School All American. He then attended and played soccer at UNLV before transferring to Oregon State University. In 1987, he played the collegiate off season with the semi-professional F.C. Oskar Wilhelm Enqvist (russian: О́скар Адо́льфович Энквист, Oskar Adolfovich Enkvist; 28 October 1849 – 3 March 1912) was a Swedish-speaking population of Finland, Finnish-Swedish admiral in the Imperial Russian Navy, noted for his role in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905.
