Enoch Brown (American Football)
Enoch "Nuck" Brown, Jr. (May 19, 1892 – 1962) was an All-Southern college football end for the Vanderbilt Commodores of Vanderbilt University. Early years Enoch Brown, Jr. was born on May 19, 1892, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Enoch Brown, Sr. and Lucinda Allen. His older brother Innis Brown was captain of the 1905 Vanderbilt Commodores football team and a long time official. Enoch, Jr. attended preparatory school at Battle Ground Academy. Vanderbilt Brown also was a catcher on the Vanderbilt baseball team and a member of the basketball team. Nuck was captain of the 1913 Vanderbilt Commodores football team. He was also a Rhodes Scholar. At Vanderbilt he was a member of Delta Tau Delta. Brown won the Bachelor of Ugliness for the class of 1914. Franklin, Tennessee
Franklin is a city in and county seat of Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. About south of Nashville, it is one of the principal cities of the Nashville metropolitan area and Middle Tennessee. As of 2020, its population was 83,454. It is the seventh-largest city in Tennessee. The city developed on both sides of the Harpeth River, a tributary of the Cumberland River. The 1913 Vanderbilt Commodores football team represented Vanderbilt University in the 1913 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association football season. The 1913 season was Dan McGugin's 10th year as head coach. Members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Commodores played six home games in Nashville, Tennessee and finished the season with a record of 5–3 overall and 2–1 in conference play. 1920 Vanderbilt Commodores Football Team
The 1920 Vanderbilt Commodores football team represented Vanderbilt University during the 1920 college football season. The team's head coach was Dan McGugin, who served his 16th season in that capacity. Members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA), the Commodores played five home games in Nashville, Tennessee, and finished the season with a record 4–3–1 and 3–3 in the SIAA. The Commodores outscored their opponents, 134–124. Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA) is a preparatory day school for boys in grades 7 through 12 in Nashville, Tennessee. History MBA was established in 1867 in the aftermath of the American Civil War. It is the successor to two schools: the Western Military Institute, which Sam Davis, the "Boy Hero of the Confederacy", attended, and the former University of Nashville.
