Enniskillen Gaels GAC
Enniskillen Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in based in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. History The club completed a six-in-a-row of Fermanagh titles between 1998 and 2003. Gaels reached the final of the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship twice during this period, losing to Crossmaglen Rangers in 1999 and to Errigal Ciarán in 2002. The bid for seven championships in a row was ended by Derrygonnelly Harps in the 2004 county final. That great team went on to win one further county title in 2006. The club went into decline over the next decade, and by 2016, were on the brink of relegation to Junior football, scraping through a relegation play-off. Backboned by the 2017 Ulster Minor winning team, the club would claim the Fermanagh Intermediate crown in 2020. In the team's first year at senior, they reached the county final. Brewster Park (Enniskillen)
Brewster Park is a GAA stadium in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of the Enniskillen Gaels and the County ground of Fermanagh GAA. The ground was renovated in 2007 and now has a capacity of roughly 18,000. The ground was named for Mickey Brewster, a Fermanagh and Enniskillen Gaels player and father of Paul Brewster. In the first match played in Brewster Park since the renovations, Fermanagh defeated Monaghan in the first round of the Ulster Senior Football Championship on Sunday, May 26, 2008 by a score of 2–8 to 0–10. Floodlights were installed in the ground in 2008 and were used in the 2008 Ulster Senior Club Football Championship final between Ballinderry and Crossmaglen. The Fermanagh Senior Hurling Championship was an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised since 1904 by Fermanagh GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Fermanagh. 2022 Fermanagh Senior Football Championship
The 2022 Fermanagh Senior Football Championship was the 116th edition of the Fermanagh GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior clubs in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The championship consists of eight teams and had a new group stage format. The championship began on 9 September 2022. Derrygonnelly Harps were the defending champions, but were beaten by Enniskillen Gaels at the semi-final stage. The final was due to be played on 23 October, but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The final was played seven days later, and Enniskillen Gaels defeated Erne Gaels Belleek to win their first title since 2006. Jim Cleary (Northern Irish Footballer)
James Cleary (born on 27 May 1956) is a Northern Irish former footballer who played as a midfielder for Enniskillen Rangers, Portadown and Glentoran and the Northern Ireland national team. Career Cleary began his career with Enniskillen Rangers before making the step up to the Irish League with Portadown in 1975. He spent five seasons at Portadown before moving to Glentoran in 1980. He scored in the first round of the 1981–82 European Cup. He is widely regarded as one of the best footballers to have represented Glentoran in the 1980s, as well as one of the best in the Irish League during this period. Cleary was noted for his passing and shooting skills with his left foot and an excellent scoring record from midfield. Glentoran won two Irish League championships and six Irish Cups during his nine-year stay, which also included a few notable European performances. Kieran McKenna (born 14 May 1986) is a Northern Irish professional football manager and former player, who is currently the manager of EFL League One side Ipswich Town. McKenna began his footballing career as a youth team player at Northern Irish sides Enniskillen Town United and Ballinamallard United. He joined Tottenham Hotspur as a youth player in 2002 after signing a scholarship contract. In 2009, at the age of 22, McKenna was forced to retire from playing as a result of a hip injury; resulting in McKenna failing to make a full senior team appearance for Tottenham. Erne Gaels, Belleek is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Belleek, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. History The club was founded in 1961. Erne Gaels won their first Fermanagh Senior Football Championship title in 1979, and followed this up by winning it again in 1981. The Belleek club's first appearance in a senior final since 1981 came in 2016, losing to Derrygonnelly Harps by a single point. Their most recent championship success was in the Intermediate grade, beating Devenish in the 2021 final.
