Enmore Recreation Ground
Enmore Recreation Ground is a cricket and football ground in Enmore, Guyana. History Located in the Demerara-Mahaica village of Enmore, the ground first played host to top–level domestic cricket in the 1992–93 Geddes Grant Shield when Guyana played Trinidad and Tobago in a List A one-day match. The ground has been used predominantly for one-day matches, hosting seventeen matches between 1993 and 2009, including several matches as a neutral venue between 2004 and 2009. In addition to hosting one-day matches, the ground has also played host to four first-class matches for Guyana between 1998 and 2004 in the Regional Four Day Competition. As a football venue, the ground is the homeground for fierce rivals Victoria Kings FC and Buxton United FC, who play in the GFF Elite League. Enmore is a village in the Demerara-Mahaica region along the coastal belt of Guyana. It is about two square miles (5.1 km2) in size and has a multi-ethnic population of 1,002 as of 2012, with large concentrations of Indo-Guyanese. Roger Harper
Roger Andrew Harper (born 17 March 1963) is a Guyanese former cricketer turned coach, who played both Test and One Day International cricket for the West Indies cricket team. His international career lasted 13 years, from 1983 to 1996, and he was later described as a "fabulous" fielder. His Test bowling average of 28.06 is superior to that of Lance Gibbs, giving him the leading average among all West Indian spinners with at least 25 Test wickets. One of his most notable performances was against South Africa in the Quarter Finals of the 1996 Cricket World Cup when he took 4/47 to allow the West Indies to seize control of the match. Harper was an all-rounder who batted right-handed and bowled right-arm off breaks, although suffering from the yips during part of his career. The Barbados national cricket team is the national cricket team of Barbados, organised by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA). The West Indies under-19 cricket team represents the countries of Cricket West Indies in international under-19 cricket. The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League (including the NAGICO Regional Super50) under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes. It includes the islands that were known as the British Windward Islands except for Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, who have their own teams. West Indies B is a List A cricket team that participates in the West Indian domestic List A tournament and was formerly also a first-class cricket team that participated in the West Indian domestic First Class competition from the 2000–01 season to the 2003–04 season. Kevin Godfrey Darlington (born 26 April 1972) is a Guyanese-American cricket coach and former player. He played for Guyana in West Indian domestic cricket from 1995 to 2002, as a right-arm fast-medium bowler. He later played international cricket for the United States from 2010 to 2011. He has since coached at national level in the United States. Carl Llewelyn Hooper (born 15 December 1966) is a former Guyanese cricketer who captained the West Indies in Tests and ODIs. An all-rounder, he was a right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler, who came to prominence in the late 1980s in a side that included such players as Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes, Malcolm Marshall and Courtney Walsh and represented the West Indies over a 16-year international career.
