Engineer Vincent I. Maduka
Vincent I. Maduka, OFR (born October 5, 1935) is a Nigerian engineer, broadcaster and the first director general of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). He holds the Nigerian national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, OFR (2003). He was between 2008 and 2016 a senior fellow at the Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria. Early life and background Maduka was born on October 5, 1935, in Epetedo area of Lagos state, Nigeria, to Albert Uzediuno Maduka and Cecilia Amuamuziam Maduka, who hailed from Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. At the traditional christening, he was named Ifeanyichukwu, however, his father’s friend and neighbour gave the name Bamidele and that (Dele) quickly became the neighbourhood preference. Order Of The Federal Republic
The Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) is one of two orders of merit, established by the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1963. It is senior to the Order of the Niger. The highest honours where the Grand Commander in the Order of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander in the Order of the Niger are awarded to the President and Vice-President respectively. The Presiding Judge in the Supreme Court and the Chairman of the Senate are qualitate and ex officio Commander in the Order of the Niger. The Nigerians have followed the British example in the form and structure of the Order. There are also post-nominal letters for the members of the Order of the Niger. ''Tupinambis'' is a lizard genus which belongs to the family Teiidae and contains eight described species. These large lizards are commonly referred to as tegus (''teiús'' in Portuguese). '' T. merianae'' (Argentine black and white tegu), '' T. rufescens'' (red tegu), and '' T. teguixin'' (gold tegu) are popular in the pet trade. They are primarily found in South America, although ''T. teguixin'' also occurs in Panama. In 2012, a number of tegu species were reclassified from ''Tupinambis'' to the previously used genus '' Salvator''. The newly proposed classification comes from a restructuring of the family Teiidae based upon the study of 137 morphological characteristics. Muhammadu Buhari (born 17 December 1942) is a Nigerian politician and current president of Nigeria since 2015. Buhari is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as the country's military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d'état. Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari (25 February 1925 – 28 December 2018), titled Turakin Sokoto from 1962, was the first democratically elected President of Nigeria, after the transfer of power by military head of state General Olusegun Obasanjo in 1979 giving rise to the Second Nigerian Republic. An experienced politician, he briefly worked as a teacher before entering politics in 1951; and was elected into the House of Representatives in 1954. The Nigerian Television Authority or NTA is a Nigerian government-owned and partly commercial broadcast station. Originally known as Nigerian Television (NTV), it was inaugurated in 1977 with a monopoly on national television broadcasting, after a takeover of regional television stations by military governmental authorities in 1976. After declining interest from the public in government-influenced programming, it lost its monopoly over television broadcasting in Nigeria in the 1990s. Marconi Company
The Marconi Company was a British telecommunications and engineering company that did business under that name from 1963 to 1987. Its roots were in the Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company founded by Italian inventor Guglielmo Marconi in 1897, which underwent several changes in name after mergers and acquisitions.
