Enduro World Championship
The FIM Enduro World Championship, formerly known as the World Enduro Championship, is the world championship series for enduro, a popular form of off-road motorcycle sport. The championship currently features three classes (E1, E2 and E3), along with separate categories for junior and female riders. The championship was first organized in 1990, and currently consists of 16 races based on eight two-day events. All rounds include an enduro test, a motocross test and an extreme test. History The World Enduro Championship began in 1990, replacing the FIM European Enduro Championship, which had been contested since 1968. The European championship was later restarted by the Union Européenne de Motocyclisme (UEM) in 1993. The WEC had six classes from 1990 to 1993, after which the 80 cc and 500 cc 2-stroke championships were discontinued. Major varieties include motorcycle road racing and off-road racing, both either on circuits or open courses, and track racing. Paul Edmondson (enduro Rider)
Paul "Fast Eddy" Edmondson (born 17 July 1969) is a British former professional motorcycle enduro racer and a four-time World Enduro Champion. He is also a long-time member of the British team in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), was the fastest racer in the 125 cc class in 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1994 and holds the ISDE record for gold medals, taking his total to 16 in 2009's Portugal ISDE. Edmondson took the 125 cc European championship title with KTM in 1989, and repeated his success when the world championship was started the following year. He won his second world title with Husqvarna in 1993, and then switched to Gas Gas, winning the 125 cc world championship in 1994 and the 250 cc in 1996. Husaberg
Husaberg was a manufacturer of enduro motorcycles with four and two-stroke engines, the displacements ranging from 125 cc to 650 cc. Originally based in Sweden, its motorcycles were later manufactured in Austria by parent company KTM until the line was retired in 2014. History Foundation Husaberg Motor AB was established in 1988 from the circumstances arisen out of the purchase of the motorcycle division of Swedish company Husqvarna by Italian Cagiva in 1987. Therion (formerly Blitzkrieg and Megatherion) is a Swedish symphonic metal band founded by Christofer Johnsson in 1987. Its name was inspired by the Celtic Frost album '' To Mega Therion''.
