End Of The World (1977 Film)
''End of the World'' is a 1977 American science fiction, science fiction film directed by John Hayes (director), John Hayes. Plot NASA Professor Andrew Boran is a research scientist who discovers strange radio signals in outer space that appear to originate from Earth. The signals seem to predict natural disasters that are occurring around the globe. When he and his wife Sylvia decide to investigate the source of the signals, they end up being held captive in a convent that has been infiltrated by aliens. These invaders, from the planet Utopia, plan to destroy the world with the natural disasters. They have replicated the original inhabits of the convent and now pose as the Father and the nuns. While posing as the human Father Pergado, the alien leader Zindar explains Earth is a hotbed of disease that cannot be permitted to continue polluting the galaxy. John Hayes (director)
John Patrick Hayes (March 1, 1930 – August 21, 2000) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He began his career as a screenwriter, writing 1959's ''The Kiss'', which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film. Hayes is best known for directing low-budget B-movie features and later, exploitation films. Biography Hayes was born March 1, 1930, in New York City to first-generation Irish American parents. His parents divorced when he was four years old, after which he was raised by his grandmother and uncle. He had a sister, Dolores, who was raised separately from him in a Catholic convent, and subsequently developed schizophrenia as an adult. After spending two years in the United States Navy, Hayes returned to New York City and began studying acting with Erwin Piscator. Lewis Frederick Ayres III (December 28, 1908 – December 30, 1996) was an American actor whose film and television career spanned 65 years. He is best known for starring as German soldier Paul Bäumer in the film '' All Quiet on the Western Front'' (1930) and for playing Dr. Kildare in nine films. Charles Robert Band (born December 27, 1951) is an American film producer and director, known for his work on horror comedy movies. Career Band entered film production in the 1970s with Charles Band Productions. Dissatisfied with distributors' handling of his movies, he formed Empire Pictures in 1983. At its height, Empire would release an average of two films a month, one theatrically and one on home video.
