Persian (), also known by its endonym Farsi (, ', ), is a Western Iranian language belonging to the Iranian branch of the Indo-Iranian subdivision of the Indo-European languages. Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran.
