Empress Zhang Yan
Zhang Yan (; died 163 BC), known formally as Empress Xiaohui (孝惠皇后) was an empress during the Han Dynasty. She was the daughter of Princess Yuan of Lu (the only daughter of Emperor Gao (Liu Bang) and his wife Empress Lü) and her husband Zhang Ao (張敖, son of Zhang Er), the Prince of Zhao and later Marquess of Xuanping. Biography In 192 BC, at the insistence of then-Empress Dowager Lü, Lady Yan married her uncle Emperor Hui, the son of Emperor Gao and Empress Dowager Lü, and she was created empress. The marriage was a childless one. At Empress Dowager Lü's instruction, Empress Zhang took several male children as her own and killed their mothers. (Whether these children were Emperor Hui's is a matter of controversy, although it appears likely that they were Emperor Hui's children by his concubines.) Empress Xiaohui (Song Dynasty)
Empress Xiaohui (; –25 January 958 CE), formally known as Lady He (賀氏), was the first wife of Emperor Taizu of the Song Dynasty. She was the daughter of He Jingsi (贺怀浦) and sister of the general He Lingtu (賀令圖). Life Lady He was the eldest daughter of He Jingsi. She was born in Bianjing, present-day Kaifeng, Henan Province.In Kaifeng, she met her future husband, Zhao Kuangyin. She had two older brothers: He Huaipu (賀懷浦) and He Lingtu (賀令圖). Zhao's family moved from Luoyang to Kaifeng. Lady He and her future husband grew up together. He Jingsi and Zhao Kuangyin's father's were colleagues and worked together as palace guards during the Later Tang dynasty. They married when she was 16. The two were deeply in love and their marriage was happy. Empress Xiaohui (Ming Dynasty)
Empress Xiaohui (孝惠皇后; d. 5 December 1522), of the Shao clan, was a consort of the Chenghua Emperor. Life Official history does not record the year of her birth. The ancestors of the Shao family were wealthy, and Lady Shao received a good education. For an unknown reason, her father Shao Lin lost his fortune overnight. He had to sell his daughter to the eunuch guarding Hangzhou. Seeing Lady Shao's beauty, the eunuch brought her to the palace. In the fourth year of Tianshun (1460), Lady Shao was selected to serve. In the eighth year of Tianshun (1464), seventeen-year-old prince Zhu Jianshen succeeded to the throne as the Chenghua Emperor. After training in calligraphy and literature, Lady Shao was presented as a gift to the emperor. How Lady Shao became his concubine remains unknown.
