Emmy (Armenian Singer)
Emma Bejanyan (; born 12 April 1984), better known as Emmy () is an Armenian singer. She is considered one of Armenia's most popular and influential singers, being labelled as a "pop princess" and "Armenian pop icon". Emmy represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and became the country's first non-qualifier. Early career Emmy's career took off immediately after she recorded her first song, "Hayastan," and released its video, in 1993. She earned numerous awards at song competitions in Armenia, Russia, Turkey, Europe, and elsewhere. She sang and toured with the all-female folk-pop quartet Hayer from 1994 to 2000. Other projects Emmy also runs Emmy-B Production Center, a music-production company searching for new young talents in Armenia. As of 2014 she's also a judge in the Armenian talent competition The X Factor's 3rd season. Lonely Planet (Dorians Song)
Armenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Lonely Planet" written by Tony Iommi and Vardan Zadoyan. The song was performed by the band Dorians, which was selected internally by the Armenian broadcaster Public Television of Armenia (AMPTV) to represent Armenia in the 2013 contest in Malmö, Sweden. In May 2012, Armenia announced that they would be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest after a one-year absence following their withdrawal in 2012 due to tensions with then host country Azerbaijan. Gor Sujyan was announced as the Armenian artist on 22 January 2013, while the song was selected through a national final, which took place on 2 March 2013 where four songs competed. Dorians is an Armenian rock band founded in June 2008 by Vahagn Gevorgyan. In February 2009 the band participated at the first qualifying round of the international Eurovision Song Contest, which brought popularity to the band. In 2013 Dorians represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö. History In April 2009 Dorians won the "Best Newcomer" award at the annual ''Tashir Music Awards'' in Moscow.
