Emmanuele Baldini
Emmanuele Baldini (Trieste, December 29, 1971) is an Italian violinist and conductor. Biography The son of two pianists, Emmanuele Baldini was attracted to the violin when he was seven years old. Baldini started his studies with Bruno Polli at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Tartini, in Trieste. He then went to the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève, where he was taught by Corrado Romano, after which he further continued his studies with Ruggiero Ricci at the Salzburg's Mozarteum. Much later, he also studied conducting with Frank Shipway and Isaac Karabtchevsky. Emmanuele Baldini was the winner of several international competitions such as the Viennese "Forum Junger Künstler" and the "Premier Prix de Virtuosité" in Geneva. He also received the third prize at the Concorso Lipizer di Gorizia, in his homeland Italy. Maria João Pires
Maria João Alexandre Barbosa Pires (; born 23 July 1944) is a Portuguese classical pianist, widely regarded as one of the leading interpreters of Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin. Early life and education Pires was born in Lisbon, Portugal, a posthumous daughter of João Baptista Pires and his wife Alzira dos Santos Alexandre Barbosa. She has three siblings: Hugo Alexandre Barbosa Pires, Maria Regina Alexandre Barbosa Pires and Maria Helena Alexandre Barbosa Pires. Her first recital was at the age of five, and at the age of seven she was already playing Mozart piano concertos publicly. Two years later she received Portugal's top prize for young musicians. Lilya Efimovna Zilberstein (russian: Лилия Ефимовна Зильберштейн; born 19 April 1965) is a Russian-born German pianist. Biography Born in Moscow and educated at the Gnessin State Musical College (1971–88), she rose to prominence after winning the 1987 Concorso Busoni. Erik Eriksson Allmusic This success opened up the Italian halls to her, and as soon as she graduated she embarked on a tour, debuting in the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. She finished with her German debut in Munich and she was immediately contracted by Deutsche Grammophon. She settled in Hamburg two years later, where she still lives with her husband and her two sons, Daniel and Anton. She has since had a successful concert career. Nicholas Michael Angelich (December 14, 1970 – April 18, 2022) was an American pianist. He was noted for performing internationally with ensembles from Europe and North America. Early life Angelich was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 14, 1970. His father, Borivoje Andjelitch, was a violinist; his mother, Clara Kadarjan, was a piano teacher who was originally from Russia. They met while studying at the Academy of Music, Belgrade, and he anglicized their family name to Angelich after they emigrated to the United States during the 1960s. Ricardo Castro Herrera (Rafael de la Santísima Trinidad Castro Herrera) (7 February 1864 – 27 November 1907) was a Mexican concert pianist and composer, considered the last romantic of the time of Porfirio Díaz. Life Castro was born at Hacienda de santa Bárbara, Durango. His father, Vicente Castro, was a deputy congressman; his mother was María de Jesús Herrera. Castro began his music education with Pedro H. Ceniseros. In 1879 his family moved to Mexico City where the boy entered the National Conservatory of Music and studied piano with Juan Salvatierra and Julio Ituarte, He studied harmony and counterpoint with Melesio Morales. He finished all his studies in just 5 years, half of the usual 10. He graduated in 1883. Castro began his musical career as a concert pianist and composer before finishing his studies.
