Emmanuel Noi Omaboe
Oyeeman Nana Wereko Ampem II, (born Emmanuel Noi Omaboe, 29 October 1930 – 26 November 2005) was a Ghanaian traditional ruler, civil servant and businessman. He was Gyaasehene of Akuapem and Ohene of Amanokrom from 1975 till his death in 2005. He was Chancellor of University of Ghana from 1999 till his death in 2005, and the first chancellor of the university who was not a Ghanaian head-of-state. He served as Ghana's Commissioner for Economic Affairs between 1967 and 1969 and Government Statistician from 1960 to 1966. Early life Omaboe was born on 29 October 1930 at Amanokrom in the Akuapim North District. His parents were Peter Nortey Omaboe of Osu and Mary Opeibea Awuku of Amanokrom. Amanokrom
Amanokrom is a town in the Akuapim North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. It shares border with Mamfe and Abotakyi History Àmanokrom, one of the principal Twi speaking towns in Akuapem, was established around 1742 by Nana Amanor Awuah of the Asona Clan whose predecessors accompanied their relative King Safori to establish the Ofore stool dynasty and the Akuapem State after the Akuapem War of Independence against the Akwamus in 1733. Nana Amanor Awuah whose name was given to the new town Amanokrom (Amanor's Town) was a descendant of Nana Ahenkorakese, an Asona Chief of Adanse Kokobiante and of common ancestry with King Kuntunkununku. University Of Ghana Medical School
The University of Ghana Medical School also UGMS is the medical school of Ghana's first public research institution, the University of Ghana. It is currently located at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The medical school was first planned in 1919, but took its first students in 1962. History The plan to set up a medical school on the Gold Coast was drawn up after the establishment of the Korle Bu Hospital in 1919 at the time, Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg. Andrews Kwame Pianim is a Ghanaian financier and former government official. He served as CEO of New World Investments, a company he co-founded in 1995. The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) is the principal stock exchange of Ghana. The exchange was incorporated in July 1989 with trading commencing in 1990. It currently lists 42 stock, equities (from 37 company, companies) and 2 corporate bonds. All types of security (finance), securities can be listed. Weatherhead Center For International Affairs
A weatherhead, also called a weathercap, service head, service entrance cap, or gooseneck (slang) is a weatherproof service drop entry point where overhead power or telephone wires enter a building, or where wires transition between overhead and underground cables. At a building the wires enter a conduit, a protective metal pipe, and the weatherhead is a waterproof cap on the end of the conduit that allows the wires to enter without letting in water. It is shaped like a hood, with the surface where the wires enter facing down at an angle of at least 45°, to shield it from precipitation. A rubberized gasket makes for a tight seal against the wires.
