Emma Cannon
Emma Cannon (born June 1, 1989) is an American basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and for Elitzur Ramla of the Israeli League, previously played for the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, Connecticut Sun, Phoenix Mercury, and Indiana Fever Early life Cannon attended the School of the Arts in Rochester, New York. While at the School of the Arts, Cannon collected 1,800 points and also 1,800 rebounds. She also holds the school record for both most points (47) and rebounds (35) in a single game. Following her outstanding high school career, Cannon committed to play collegiate basketball at Central Florida. College Central Florida During Cannon's freshman year, she was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team after averaging 11.7 ppg and 8.7 rpg. Elitzur Ramla is a women's basketball team from Ramla, Israel. History In March 2011, Elitzur Ramla won the EuroCup Women, after a 61-53 triumph against ASPTT Arras from France. 2022 Indiana Fever Season
The 2022 Indiana Fever season is the franchise's 23rd season in the Women's National Basketball Association. The regular season tips off on May 6, 2022, at the Washington Mystics. The Fever landed the 2nd overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft - despite having the best odds in the lottery drawing. On February 14, 2022, Tamika Catchings and the Fever parted ways as Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager. On February 24, 2022, the Fever announced that former head coach Lin Dunn would serve as interim General Manager for the year. The 2022 WNBA season was the 25th season for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association. The season began on May 6, 2022, against the Las Vegas Aces and ended in the 1st round of the WNBA Playoffs against the same team. The season was marred by a number of issues, including injuries and the absence of Brittney Griner, who was detained in Russia on drug charges. On December 6, 2021, the Mercury announced that they would not be renewing Sandy Brondello's contract and parted ways with her as Head Coach. 2022 WNBA Season
The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021 Indiana Fever season was the franchise's 22nd season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The regular season tipped off on May 14, 2021 at the New York Liberty. The Fever started the season by losing four games before winning their first game on May 23. The team then went on a twelve game losing streak, which included going 0–8 during the month of June. However, before the Olympic break, the Fever won three straight games, to end the first portion of the season with a 4–16 record. The 2021 WNBA season was the 23rd season for the Connecticut Sun franchise of the Women's National Basketball Association. It was also the 19th season for the franchise in Connecticut. The season began on May 14, 2021, at the Atlanta Dream. The Sun started the season strongly and went on a five-game winning streak before losing their first game. They lost two of their last three games in May to finish with a strong 6–2 record in that month. The month of June was streaky for the Sun, with a three-game losing streak book-ended by a two-game winning streak and a three-game winning streak. The 2021 Las Vegas Aces season was the franchise's 25th season in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the 4th year the franchise was based in Las Vegas. The regular season tipped off on May 15, 2021 at the Seattle Storm. The Aces started the season by splitting a two game set in Seattle in a rematch of last year's finals. After that set, they won four of their remaining five games in May, with their only other loss coming against Connecticut. They lost their opening game in June, but went on a five game winning streak from there. The streak was snapped in Minnesota, in overtime, in a one point loss to the Lynx. The Aces followed the loss with an overtime win against Seattle to finish out June 7–2. They carried their winning streak into July, winning the first two games of July. Jonquel Jones
Jonquel Orthea Jones (born January 5, 1994) is a Bahamian-Bosnian professional basketball player for the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was drafted with the 6th overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. Since May 2019, she also holds the citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, allowing her to play for the national team. A 6'6" power forward/center, Jones played college basketball for Clemson and George Washington. After the February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, she left the Russian team UMMC Ekaterinburg, and joined the Turkish team Çukurova Basketbol. Early life Jones was born in the Bahamas.
