Emilio Gola
Emilio Gola (1851–1923) was an Italian painter. Biography Born in Milan into a noble family, Gola was encouraged to develop his interest in art in his adolescence by his father, a dilettante painter. He graduated in industrial engineering from the Milan Polytechnic in 1873 and devoted himself to painting under the guidance of Sebastiano De Albertis. His training also involved frequent trips to Paris and the Netherlands. He made his debut at the 1879 Exposition of Fine Arts at the Brera Academy and afterwards participated regularly in national exhibitions, but obtained his greatest official recognition at the European level. By the 1880s he was an esteemed portrait who depicted women of the Milanese nobility in their fashionable, worldly dimension but with a vigorously naturalistic approach. Fondazione Cariplo is a charitable foundation in Milan, Italy. It was created in December 1991 when the Amato law, Law no. 218 of 30 July 1990, came into force. Under this law, saving banks were required to separate into a not-for-profit foundation and a commercial banking arm. The Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie Lombarde, commonly known as Cariplo, was divided into the Fondazione Cariplo and Cariplo SpA, the bank, which merged with Ambroveneto in 1998. As at 31 December 2014, the organisation had a shareholders equity of €6,889,487,562. Fondazione Cariplo is part of the Partner Circle of the Foundations Platform F20, a global network of foundations and other philanthropic organizations. Alberto Malaspina (1853 – 1903) was an Italian painter, depicting landscapes and seascapes. Biography He was born in Pisa and died in Milan. In 1884 at Milan, he exhibited: ''Bogliasco, nella riviera di Levante'', and ''Nervi''. His paintings ''Un mercante di cose mitiche'' (1875) and ''After the questua'' (1873) were awarded medals at the exhibitions of Toledo and Vienna respectively. To the Paris Salons of 1876 and 1878, he exhibited a watercolor: ''The Baptism'' and ''Before the baptism, in the island of Ischia''. His ''Lo Porta del Popolo'' was exhibited in Munich, where it was decorated with the Order of first class of San Michele.
