Os, Hordaland
Os is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. It was located in the Midhordland region, just south of Norway's second-largest city, Bergen. Due to its proximity to Bergen, Os experienced strong population growth. The administrative centre (and commercial centre) of Os was the village of Osøyro. It is the largest settlement in the municipality, with over 60% of the municipal residents living here. Other large villages in Os included Hagavik, Halhjem, Søfteland, Søre Øyane, and Søvik. On 1 January 2020, the municipality became part of Bjørnafjorden Municipality in Vestland county. The 2010 IHF Women's Youth World Championship was the third edition and took place at Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic from August 2–12. Grundigligaen (women)
REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier women's professional handball league for Norwegian handball clubs. It is administered by the Norwegian Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Norwegian champions. It was established in 1968, and it is currently contested by thirteen teams. Larvik HK, which has dominated the competition in recent years, is the championship's most successful team with eighteen titles, followed by IL Vestar and Byåsen IL with nine and five respectively. The league has previously been known as eliteserien, Gildeserien, Postenligaen and GRUNDIGligaen. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. In 2012 the EHF Office celebrated 20 years since it first opened its doors. 2011 Women's Under-19 European Handball Championship
The 2011 Women's U-19's European Handball Championship is the eighth edition of the continental handball event for this age group, and the fourth under its new name, that is being held between 4 and 14 August in the Netherlands. Norway entered the championship as title holders, after beaten 2009 hosts Hungary 29–27 in the previous tournament's final. According to the competition regulations, only players born on or after 1 January 1992 are eligible to participate. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
