Embobut Mosop
Embobut, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (Embobit, Embotut) is one of the administrative wards for the Marakwet East Constituency in Elgeyo-Marakwet County, Kenya. The area contains one of two major drainage basins for Elgeyo-Marakwet County, referred to locally as a "water towers". The other water tower in Elgeyo-Marakwet County is Cherangani Hills. Embobut supplies Eldoret town and its environs with water. Collectively the Embobut and Cherangani Hills water towers also supply water to the Kerio River, which flows through the Cheploch Gorge in Baringo to Lake Turkana via the Turkwel Gorge. The Embobut Forest is one of the largest continuous blocks of indigenous forest still remaining in East Africa. Linah Jebii Kilimo
Linah Jebii Kilimo is a Kenyan politician who was an MP for Marakwet East constituency from 2002 to 2012. She first ventured into politics in 1997 by contesting the parliamentary seat on a KANU ticket, but lost to John Kiptoo Marrirmoi during the party primaries. She defected to Charity Ngilu's SDP but her campaign didn't gather sufficient momentum because of KANU's dominance in the region. However, she managed to unseat Marrirmoi in the 2002 general elections on a NARC ticket. In 2005, she opposed the Constitutional Referendum, a de facto vote of no confidence in the Kibaki government. Marakwet

Robert Kiptoo Kipkorir is a Kenyan politician. He was third Keiyo North. He served for two terms spanning for ten years in parliament; 1983–1992. Marakwet District
Marakwet District is a defunct administrative district in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Its capital town was Kapsowar. The district had a population of 140.629. Local people are predominantly of the Marakwet tribe. The district was created in 1927 as ''Elgeyo/Marakwet District''. It was split into Marakwet and Keiyo Districts in 1994. In 2010, the two districts were joined again to form Elgeyo-Marakwet County. Many famous Kenyan runners come from Marakwet, most notably Moses Kiptanui, Evans Rutto, Reuben Kosgei, Ezekiel Kemboi and Richard Chelimo. The district has only one local authority, Marakwet county council. Its population is thus same as the district (140,629).
