"Eloise" is a Swedish-language song written by and Lasse Holm and performed by Swedish dansband Arvingarna. It won the Melodifestivalen 1993 and finished 7th in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993, where it represented . The country had been one of the favourites to win that year. The highest sets of points, 10, came from , and , adding up to a total of 89 points. The song text describes a man who wants to know if a woman called Eloise is more than a friend. Dennis Casper Janebrink (born 2 January 1970) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and musician. He is the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of dansband Arvingarna. Casper Janebrink is the son of Dennis Janebrink and Ing-Marie. He grew up in Partille. In 1993, the Arvingarna song " Eloise" won Melodifestivalen. With Arvingarna, he has participated at Melodifestivalen five times. In 2011, he participated in ''Körslaget'' with a choir from his home municipality of Partille. In 2018 he won '' Stjärnornas stjärna'', which aired over TV4. Arvingarna is a Swedish dansband formed in Gothenburg in 1989. The group consists of Casper Janebrink (vocals and bass guitar), Lars Larsson (guitars, vocals and keyboards), Kim Carlsson (vocals and guitars) and Tommy Carlsson (drums and vocals). At Melodifestivalen 1993, they performed the song '" Eloise", which won, allowing Arvingarna to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest in Millstreet Co.Cork in May that year, where the song finished 7th. History Arvingarna was founded in 1989, following the members earlier having played heavy metal, without any major successes. Fred Roger Pontare (born Roger Johansson; 17 October 1951) is a Swedish musician. He lives in Bjuråker in Hudiksvalls kommun. Pontare was born in Arjeplog Municipality, and is of Sami descent. Sweden entered the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Dublin, Ireland. Sveriges Television continued to use the Melodifestivalen contest to select the Swedish entry. Before Eurovision Melodifestivalen 1994 Melodifestivalen 1994 was the selection for the 34th song to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the 33rd time that this system of picking a song had been used. 1,560 songs were submitted to SVT for the competition. The final was held in the SVT Studios in Stockholm on 12 March 1994, presented by Kattis Ahlström and Sven Melander and was broadcast on TV1 and Sveriges Radio's P3 and P4 networks. The show was watched by 3,780,000 people. At Eurovision Bergman and Pontare opened the contest, singing 1st of 25 countries, preceding Finland.
