Elmira ( ) is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located along M-32, the community is on the county line between Warner Township in Antrim County to the west and Elmira Township in Otsego County to the east. As an unincorporated community, Elmira has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own but does have its own postal service with the 49730 ZIP Code. Geography The rural community of Elmira is located within the Northern Michigan region about north of the 45th parallel. The community is located within Antrim County and Otsego County. Most of the community is within Elmira Township in Otsego County with some development extending west into Warner Township within Antrim County. The community is located about northwest of the city of Gaylord. Elmira sits at an elevation of above sea level. Mancelona Township ( ) is a civil township of Antrim County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,311 at the 2020 census. Communities *Antrim is a former company town on US 131 approximately one mile southwest of Mancelona at . In the 1940 census it had 610 residents. It was not delineated in the 1950 census.Columbia-Lippincott Gazetteer John Otis & Company built a charcoal furnace in 1882. In 1883, E.K. Boyne Falls is a village in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 358 at the 2020 census. The village is located within Boyne Valley Township. History Boyne Falls was first settled with the coming of the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad in 1874. In that year, A. D. Carpenter built the first store. A post office opened in Boyne Falls on September 5, 1874 with William Nelson serving as the first postmaster. The community was named by John Miller after the Boyne River, which has a nearby set of waterfalls. The name itself came from another river in Ireland. F-41 (Michigan County Highway)
F-41 is a county-designated highway in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. It was previously designated as M-171, a former state trunkline highway, until 1960, running from US Highway 23 (US 23) just north of Oscoda, and coming back to US 23 about south of Alpena. The road runs through rural, forested areas of Iosco and Alcona counties, inland from Lake Huron. Although it has been a county road since 1960, F-41 was a state highway in 1919 when the state trunkline highway system was formed. It was a segment of the original M-10 that was replaced by US 23 in 1926. Later changes to US 23 shifted that road closer to Lake Huron, and the Michigan State Highway Department (MSHD) created two different routings for M-171 out of the former US 23 routings in the area.
