Ellen Shipley
Ellen Shipley (born March 24, 1949 in New York City, New York, United States) is an American musician and songwriter. Career At sixteen years old, Shipley got a NYC Cabaret license. She performed a duo act in Greenwich Village in the early 70's with Steve Fields. Shipley was noticed by a Tommy Mottola associate, in a jazz club in NYC, ''Pearl’s Place'', and signed to Mottola's company. Nowels approached Shipley in a Woodstock, NY cafe, asked Shipley write with him for a Belinda Carlisle solo album. "It was Stevie Nicks who matched Belinda (Carlisle) with songwriters Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley and changed her life." Shipley is best known for her work with Rick Nowels. Together they have written for Kim Wilde and worked on the Belinda Carlisle albums ''Belinda'', '' Heaven on Earth'', ''Runaway Horses'', and ''Live Your Life Be Free''. Jennifer Rush (born Heidi Stern; September 28, 1960) is an American pop and rock singer. She achieved success during the mid-1980s with several singles and studio albums including the million-selling single " The Power of Love", which she co-wrote and released in 1984. Her greatest success came in Europe, particularly Germany. Early life Rush was born Heidi Stern in the New York City borough of Queens and has two older brothers. Her father, Maurice Stern, is an operatic tenor, voice teacher, and sculptor. Her signature song, the platinum-certified 1982 single " Gloria", stayed on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for 36 weeks, then a record for a female artist, peaking at No. 2. David Tickle
David Tickle (born 6 September 1959) is a British record producer and engineer. As a producer, he is noted for his work with Split Enz, and in Canada, for his mid-1980s work with Red Rider, Platinum Blonde and Gowan. He later produced Joe Cocker, The Divinyls "I Touch Myself", and was signed to produce the international hit for 4 Non Blondes " What's Up?". As an engineer or mixer, Tickle worked on best-selling albums by Blondie and U2. As a mixing engineer, he worked on several hit 1980s releases by Prince.
