Elizabeth Presa
Elizabeth Presa (born 1956) is an Australian visual artist and academic based in Melbourne. She is Head of the interdisciplinary Victorian College of the Arts Centre for Ideas. Working with sculpture her work uses a range of materials and processes, including sericulture, apiculture and casting. Some of her installations use plaster as a forensic tool to examine traces of the psyche, biological life and the environment. She is an academic, an author and has also worked as a curator and gallery director. Presa is the mother of Australian contemporary artist Anastasia Klose with whom she occasionally collaborates. Central Academy Of Fine Arts
The Central Academy of Fine Arts or CAFA is an art academy under the direct charge of the Ministry of Education of China. The Manila Bulletin calls the school "China’s most prestigious and renowned art academy". It is one of the most selective universities in the country and turns away more than 90% of applicants every year. The Cité internationale des arts is an artist-in-residence building complex which accommodates artists of all specialities and nationalities in Paris. It comprises two sites, one located in the Marais and the other in Montmartre. Approximately 1200 artists, choreographers, musicians, writers and designers from around the world live and work in the Cité internationale des arts every year. Residencies are generally a year long. Gregory Burgess
Gregory Burgess is an Australian architect based in Melbourne, Victoria. Burgess is especially notable for his buildings for Indigenous communities in Australia, and for his participatory design approach which has produced some remarkable and unique buildings. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne in 1970. He has led a practice called the Gregory Burgess Architects for 32 years. Gregory Burgess received the RAIA Gold Medal in 2004, the Australian architecture profession's highest accolade. He has received over 40 professional and community awards including the AIA Sir Zelman Cowen Award and Victorian Architecture Medal. Janine Burke
Janine Burke is an Australian author, art historian, biographer, photographer and novelist. She also curates exhibitions of historical and contemporary art. She is Honorary Senior Fellow, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, University of Melbourne. She was born in Melbourne in 1952. Education Burke attended Catholic Ladies College, East Melbourne (1965-1967) before being expelled. She then attended Malvern Girls High School (1967-1970). Mireille Eid (Astore)
Mireille Eid (Astore) (Beirut, 1961) ( ar, ميراي عيد اسطوري) is an artist and a writer. She left Beirut during the Lebanese civil war in 1975 to live in Melbourne, Australia. She studied the Sciences at the University of Melbourne where she graduated before becoming a full-time artist and writer. Influenced by continental philosophy, her art draws on autobiographical notions of representation and the '' unheimlich''; where the conscious intersects with the unconscious. Hans Ulrich Obrist (born 1968) is a Swiss art curator, critic, and historian of art. He is artistic director at the Serpentine Galleries, London. Obrist is the author of ''The Interview Project'', an extensive ongoing project of interviews. He is also co-editor of the ''Cahiers d'Art'' review.
