Elisabeth Gürtler
Elisabeth Gürtler-Mauthner (born 7 May 1950) is an Austrian businesswoman. She is managing director of the Hotel Sacher, Vienna's most famous hotel. Born in Vienna, Gürtler attended a Catholic '' gymnasium'' in her home town, took her ''Matura'' exams in 1968 and then studied economics, graduating in 1972. In 1990, on the suicide of her ex-husband, Peter Gürtler, she took over the management of the Hotel Sacher, with 500 employees under her, as he had left the hotel to their two children, at that time still minors. From 1995 until 2000 she was Vice-President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. From 2001 until 2007 she chaired the Vienna Opera Ball. Helmuth Lohner (24 April 1933 – 23 June 2015) was an Austrian actor, theatre director, and from 1997 to 2006 director of the Theater in der Josefstadt. Early life Born in Vienna, Lohner initially trained as a commercial artist, while also taking private acting lessons. He made his acting début in 1952 at the municipal theatre in Baden bei Wien. He also appeared as operetta buffo at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt. From 1953 to 1963 he appeared in various productions of the Theater in der Josefstadt, as well as making numerous film appearances. Spanish Riding School
The Spanish Riding School (german: Spanische Hofreitschule) is an Austrian institution dedicated to the preservation of classical dressage and the training of Lipizzaner horses, based in Vienna, Austria, whose performances in the Hofburg are also a tourist attraction. The leading horses and riders of the school also periodically tour and perform worldwide. The Vienna Opera Ball (German: ''Wiener Opernball'') is an annual Austrian society event which takes place in the building of the Vienna State Opera in Vienna, Austria on the Thursday preceding Ash Wednesday (a religious holiday).
