Elisabeth Grümmer
Elisabeth Grümmer (née Schilz; 31 March 1911 – 6 November 1986) was a German soprano. She has been described as "a singer blessed with elegant musicality, warm-hearted sincerity, and a voice of exceptional beauty". Life Elisabeth Schilz was born in ''Niederjeutz'' ow Yutz, near ''Diedenhofen'' (Thionville">Yutz.html" ;"title="ow Yutz">ow Yutz, near ''Diedenhofen'' (Thionville), Alsace-Lorraine] to German parents. In 1918, her family was expelled from Lorraine, and they settled in Meiningen, where she studied theater and made her stage debut as Klärchen in Goethe's ''Egmont (play), Egmont''. She married the concertmaster of the theater orchestra, Detlev Grümmer, and became a mother. The family moved to Aachen, where they met Herbert von Karajan under whose encouragement she made her operatic debut in 1940, in the role of First Flowermaiden in a 1940 performance of Wagner's ''Parsifal''. Yutz
Yutz (; german: Jeutz; Lorraine Franconian: ''Jäiz'') is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France, close to the borders with both Luxembourg and Germany. It was created in 1971 by merging the former communes of ''Basse-Yutz'' and ''Haute-Yutz''. ''Macquenom'' is also a part of the commune since 1810. The town is located by the river Moselle where it borders with the city of Thionville. The famous Basse Yutz Flagons, considered by many to be the apogee of Celtic art, were found in the area. They now form part of the British Museum's collection. The inhabitants are called ''Yussois''. Kammersänger
Kammersänger (male) or Kammersängerin (female), abbreviated Ks. or KS, is a German honorific title for distinguished singers of opera and classical music. It literally means "chamber singer". Historically, the title was bestowed by princes or kings, when it was styled ''Hofkammersänger(in)'', where ''hof'' refers to the royal court. The title is given in Germany and in Austria usually on the recommendation of relevant national and local institutions. In East Germany, some concert halls bestowed this designation. Hans Zanotelli
Hans Zanotelli (23 August 1927 – 12 July 1993) was a German conductor. Life Born in Cronenberg, now part of Wuppertal, Zanotelli learned to play the violin and piano as a child. He studied music at the Musikhochschule Köln from 1942 to 1944, conducting with Hans Swarowsky. Zanotelli began his career as a répétiteur at the Remscheid-Solingen theatres. At the age of 24, he became ''Kapellmeister'' in Düsseldorf, after which he moved to the Oper Bonn and Hamburgische Staatsoper. In 1957, he was appointed Generalmusikdirektor (GMD) at the Darmstadt, as the youngest GMD in Germany at that time. In 1963, he moved to Theater Augsburg as GMD and deputy artistic director. In 1971, Zanotelli became chief conductor of Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, promoted to GMD in 1975. He held the post until 1984. He also conducted at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Bavarian State Opera. As a guest, Zanotelli also conducted concerts of the Niedersächsisches Symphonie-Orchester in 1966 and 1967 ...
