Elijah Behnke
Elijah Behnke (born February 15, 1983) is an American small business owner and Republican politician. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, having won an April 2021 special election in the 89th Assembly district. Biography Behnke was born in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, and raised on his parents' nearby farm. He worked on the farm through his childhood and graduated from Oconto High School in 2001. He went on to attend bible college in northeast Georgia. In 2006, he returned to Wisconsin and started working for his mother's cleaning business. After a year, he started his own cleaning business, Eschalon Cleaning LLC. In addition to his cleaning business, Behnke operates a hobby farm and is a ministry leader in his church. In December 2020, just after the 2020 election, state representative John Nygren announced he would resign from office. Wisconsin's 89th Assembly District
The 89th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in Northeastern Wisconsin, the district covers most of the eastern half of Oconto County, Wisconsin, Oconto County, as well as neighboring municipalities in Marinette County, Wisconsin, Marinette and Brown County, Wisconsin, Brown counties. It includes the cities of Oconto, Wisconsin, Oconto and Marinette, Wisconsin, Marinette, as well as the village of Suamico, Wisconsin, Suamico and the eastern half of the village of Howard, Wisconsin, Howard. Wisconsin State Capitol
The Wisconsin State Capitol, located in Madison, Wisconsin, houses both chambers of the Wisconsin legislature along with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Office of the Governor. Completed in 1917, the building is the fifth to serve as the Wisconsin capitol since the first territorial legislature convened in 1836 and the third building since Wisconsin was granted statehood in 1848. 2021 Wisconsin Elections
The 2021 Wisconsin Spring Election was held in the U.S. state of Wisconsin on April 6, 2021. There was one statewide race—for Superintendent of Public Instruction. Additionally, two special elections occurred for the Wisconsin State Senate and Wisconsin State Assembly, as well as other nonpartisan local and judicial elections. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. André Jacque (born October 13, 1980) is an American politician who serves as a Wisconsin State Senator, representing the Wisconsin's 1st State Senate district, 1st senatorial district as a Republican Party (United States), Republican since 2019.
