Elif Shafak ( tr, Elif Şafak, ; born 25 October 1971) is a Turkish-British novelist, essayist, public speaker, political scientist and activist. Shafak writes in Turkish and English, and has published 19 works. Aleph (or alef or alif, transliterated ʾ) is the first letter of the Semitic abjads, including Phoenician , Hebrew , Aramaic , Syriac , Arabic ʾ and North Arabian 𐪑. Elif Köroğlu is a Turkish female football referee and long-distance runner. Elif Köroğlu began her official career in the amateur league match in March 2015. She served in the role of referee in various age categories of the amateur league between 2016 and 2017. In July 2017, she was promoted to the position of professional referee. She serves as a referee in the women's and men's professional leagues. She started her athletics by running in the 4K meters branch. When she was only 14 years old, she ran 55.02 seconds and became the third in Turkey. She then continued in the 400 meters branch. In 2013 she started running 5K, 10K, 15K, 25K, 21K and 42K. Begünhan Elif Ünsal (born January 4, 1993) is a Turkish archer. Private life Begünhan Elif Ünsal was born in Isparta, Turkey on January 4, 1993. After finishing the private high school Altınbaşak College, she studied Sports Science at the Faculty of Health Science in Süleyman Demirel University in her hometown. Sports career Ünsal began her archery career at age ten, inspired by her archer older sister and encouraged by her father. She is trained by her father Yalçın Ünsal. She participated at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. She was eliminated in the second round in the individual event by the eventual silver medallist Tan Ya-Ting.
