Electric Sound Stage
Electric Sound Stage was a radio station on iHeartRadio and Clear Channel HD2's across the United States that played commercial free Electronic Dance music 24/7. The last broadcast of the station is thought to have been around April 2017 as its Facebook and Twitter pages have been offline since 3 March 2017. A new station, in partner with Insomniac, EDC Radio, is thought to be Electric Sound Stage's replacement as its launch occurred on 27 April. History Electric Sound Stage was launched on 2011. It was one of six Dance-formatted stations being offered by iHeartRadio, along with Club Phusion, Trancid, Pride Radio, The Spin*Cycle and Classic Dance. Programming Electric Sound Stage, like Trancid, offered an Electronic Dance Music presentation, but with most of the schedule devoted to mix sets, specialty shows and programs concentrating on Electronic/Dance subgenres. Downtempo
Downtempo (or downbeat) is a broad label for electronic music that features an atmospheric sound and slower beats than would typically be found in dance music. Closely related to ambient music but with greater emphasis on rhythm, the style may be played in chillout clubs or as "warm-up or cool-down" music during a DJ set. Examples of downtempo subgenres include trip hop, ambient house, chillwave, psybient and lo-fi hip hop. The style emerged in the late 1980s with the UK's Bristol scene that birthed artists like Massive Attack, Portishead, and Tricky. In the 1990s, the style was heard internationally in artists such as Kruder & Dorfmeister, Fila Brazillia, and Thievery Corporation. Roger Sanchez (born June 1, 1967) is a Dominican-American house music DJ, remixer and producer. He won a Grammy Award for his remix of "Hella Good" by No Doubt in 2003, and is best known for his song " Another Chance", which was an international hit in 2001. Moombahton
Moombahton (, ) is an electronic dance music genre, derived from house music and reggaeton, that was created by American DJ and producer Dave Nada in Washington, D.C., in 2009. Nada coined the name as a portmanteau of "Moombah" (a track by Surinamese house DJ Chuckie and Dutch producer/DJ Silvio Ecomo) and reggaeton (itself a neologism combining reggae with the Spanish suffix ''-ton'', signifying big). Chill-out (shortened as chill; also typeset as chillout or chill out) is a loosely defined form of popular music characterized by slow tempos and relaxed moods. The definition of "chill-out music" has evolved throughout the decades, and generally refers to anything that might be identified as a modern type of easy listening. The term "chill-out music" – originally conflated with "ambient house" – came from an area called "The White Room" at the Heaven nightclub in London in 1989.
