Electric Gardens
Electric Gardens, (Electric Gardens Festival), sometimes abbreviated to 'EGFestival', or 'EGFest', or sometimes simply 'EG', was a medium-sized 'Boutique' Music Festival situated at Mount Ephraim, Faversham in Kent. The event was held on a weekend in early August in 2006 and 2007. Electric Gardens 2008 was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. In February 2008 a key player in organising the event was taken to hospital with a life-threatening illness. With no foreseeable date as to when he would be allowed home, let alone back to work, the organisers were forced to cancel. The Myspace Bus An inactive bus was parked at the festival grounds, provided by Myspace, in which the artists and bands were available to meet. Morning Runner were an English alternative rock band, formed in 2003 in Reading, Berkshire, England. The band comprised vocalist/guitarist Matthew Jonathan Greener, drummer Ali Clewer, bassist Tom Derrett and pianist Chris "Fields" Wheatcroft. They released one album, '' Wilderness Is Paradise Now'', following top 20 single " Burning Benches", before splitting up in late 2007 due to commercial pressures from their record label, Parlophone. History Origin and early years (2003–2005) Morning Runner formed in Reading, Berkshire. Pianist Chris "Fields" Wheatcroft moved to Reading from Salisbury, where he had dropped out of his classical music course, and Nottingham born vocalist/guitarist Matthew Jonathan Greener moved there with his parents in his early teens. The Earlies
The Earlies are a band formed by Christian Madden and Giles Hatton from Lancashire, England, and Brandon Carr and John Mark Lapham from the United States. They are notable for blending elements from a wide range of musical genres and have been described as both "a very English kind of folk-psychedelia... with a smattering of Beach Boys harmonies" by ''The Independent'', and "country-meets-prog-meets-electronica symphonies" by ''The Guardian''. In the late 1990s, prior to his Earlies days, Lapham released ambient electronic music, under the name Autio, on Manchester record label Beatnik Records. Hatton recorded as Atomic Clock for the same label. The band are notable for using a large live line-up consisting of 11 members who play an eclectic range of instruments, including the flute, the tuba, the cello, a set of turntables and a synthesizer, alongside the more traditional rock instruments. Southern Fried
''Southern Fried'' is a studio album by American country singer-songwriter Bill Anderson and his band "The Po' Folks". It was released in 1983 on Southern Tracks Records. It was co-produced by Anderson and Mike Johnson. The album marked Anderson's first release on an independent record label after previously recording for MCA Records for many years. The album produced four singles released between 1982 and 1983, all of which charted on the '' Billboard'' country songs survey. Background and content Anderson left MCA Records in 1981 after his contract was not renewed. Subsequently, Anderson focused more on songwriting, but decided to go back into the studio in 1982. Veto Silver
Veto Silver was a synthpop band from the United Kingdom. It was made up of Ben Silver (vocals), Neal Silver (guitars), and Patrick Silver (synthesizers and samplers). The band officially called it quits, however, on 6 March 2007, deciding to have their final gig the following day. It is still not clear as to why the split occurred since that information has not been publicly announced yet. Cassius (band)
Cassius was a French musical duo consisting of producers Philippe Cerboneschi and Hubert Blanc-Francard, better known as Zdar and Boombass (or sometimes Philippe Zdar and Hubert Boombass). Under its different incarnations the duo is likened to the "French Touch" movement of electronic music in the second half of the 1990s. Members Boombass Hubert Blanc-Francard (; aka Boombass), born 31 March 1967, is a French musician and producer. Plump DJs are an English dance music duo consisting of Lee Rous and Andy Gardner, considered to be early pioneers of the breakbeat genre in late 1990s. Throughout the 2000s, they have been very prolific creatively, releasing many celebrated underground singles, albums compilations. Also remixing the records of well-known dance music mega stars such as Deadmau5, Mark Ronson, Fatboy Slim, Orbital and the Stanton Warriors. Stanton Warriors
Stanton Warriors are a British DJ and production duo consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley. Originally from the West Country, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks. The Stanton Warriors' third mix album was released in the UK on 27 October 2008, entitled ''Stanton Session Vol. 3'', which is their best-seller to date, and received 5 out of 5 from iDJ. This was also released in a limited run, deluxe edition manhole cover tin pack. Layo & Bushwacka! is the pseudonym of British DJ duo Layo Paskin and Matthew Benjamin, who released four tech house albums between 1998 and 2012. Layo Paskin Paskin, from London, began his DJ career at the age of sixteen while working at Camden Market. Not long after, he began DJing at warehouse parties with Mr. C. In the course of his work, Paskin's father discovered the building that would become The End, a 19th-century stable for mail horses. Along with Mr. C, Paskin was the co-owner of The End nightclub in London. Labelled variously as tech house, house or breakbeat, the pair usually record and DJ together. Archie Bronson Outfit are an English rock band. They met at Kingswood School, Bath. After leaving their native Somerset, the band moved to London where they were discovered by Laurence Bell, boss of Domino Records. The band were playing in Bell's local bar, "The Cat's Back" in Putney. The band released their debut album ''Fur'' in 2004. ''Fur'' was produced by Jamie "Hotel" Hince of The Kills. The band released their second album, '' Derdang Derdang'' on 3 April 2006. The album was recorded in Nashville in the summer of 2005 and produced by Jacquire King. The Boy Least Likely To is an English indie pop duo, composed of composer/multi-instrumentalist Pete Hobbs and lyricist/singer Jof Owen. History Owen and Hobbs both grew up in the village of Wendover in Buckinghamshire.
