Dale was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia from 1950 to 1989. Dale was a mostly rural district based to the east of Perth. Dale River
The Dale River is a perennial river located in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. Rising on the eastern slopes of the Darling Scarp, the river flow generally east by north, joined by six major tributaries including the Dale River South, Gibb Gully, Connelly Gully, Sherlock Gully, Flint Gully and Talbot Brook. The river reaches its mouth to join the Avon River approximately west of near the Avondale Agricultural Research Station. The river descends over its course. Electoral Districts Of Western Australia
The Western Australian Legislative Assembly is elected from 59 single-member electoral districts. These districts are often referred to as ''electorates'' or ''seats''. The ''Electoral Distribution Act 1947'' requires regular review of electoral boundaries, in order to keep the relative size of electorates within certain limits. Electoral boundaries are determined by the Western Australian Electoral Commission. Western Australian Legislative Assembly
The Western Australian Legislative Assembly, or lower house, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Western Australia, an Australian state. The Parliament sits in Parliament House in the Western Australian capital, Perth. The Legislative Assembly today has 59 members, elected for four-year terms from single-member electoral districts. Members are elected using the preferential voting system. As with all other Australian states and territories, voting is compulsory for all Australian citizens over the legal voting age of 18. Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. 1989 Western Australian State Election
Elections were held in the state of Western Australia on 4 February 1989 to elect all 57 members to the Legislative Assembly and all 34 members to the Legislative Council. The Labor government, led by Premier Peter Dowding, won a third term in office against the Liberal Party, led by Opposition Leader Barry MacKinnon. The result was a major swing against the Labor Party, coming in the wake of revelations of dealings between Government and business that came to be known as WA Inc. Roleystone was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia from 1989 to 2005. The district was based in the outer south-eastern suburbs and hinterland of Perth, including the south-eastern corner of the Metropolitan Region Scheme. At its abolition, the district included all or parts of the following local government councils: City of Armadale, City of Gosnells, City of Kalamunda, City of Rockingham, City of Kwinana, Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale. Gerald Percy Wild MBE AM (2 January 1907 – 11 October 1996) was an Australian politician who served as a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1947 to 1965. He was a minister in the governments of Sir Ross McLarty and Sir David Brand, and later served as Agent-General for Western Australia from 1965 to 1971. Early life Born in Chichester, Sussex, to Alice Hilda (née Heather) and Edwin Percy Wild, a yeast merchant, Wild was educated at Shoreham Grammar School. He emigrated to South Australia in 1923 as one of the Barwell Boys, as part of an assisted migration scheme. He was initially employed as a farm apprentice at Langhorne's Creek and Loxton, and then went to work in the mines at Broken Hill, New South Wales. Cyril Rushton
Edgar Cyril Rushton (23 November 1922 – 23 August 1992) was an Australian politician who was a Liberal Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1965 to 1988. He served as a minister in the governments of Charles Court and Ray O'Connor, including as deputy premier to O'Connor from 1982 to 1983. Early life Born in Denmark, in Western Australia's Great Southern region, Rushton attended schools in Denmark, Mount Barker, and Katanning, before boarding at Scotch College in Perth.
