Jessica Stojkovski
Jessica Mary Christine Stojkovski (née O'Gorman, born 18 October 1981) is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since the 2017 state election, representing Kingsley, which takes in the areas of Kingsley, Woodvale, Greenwood, Hamersley and Warwick. Personal life Stojkovski is the daughter of former Labor MP Tony O'Gorman, who previously represented Joondalup in the State Parliament from 2001 to 2013. Jessica Stojkovski worked as a town planner before entering politics. She also served as president of the Landsdale Residents Association as well as on the boards of numerous primary schools. Andrea Mitchell (politician)
Andrea Ruth Mitchell (7 February 1956 – 4 April 2020) was an Australian politician who was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 2008 to 2017, representing the seat of Kingsley. She was a minister in the government of Colin Barnett from March 2016. Early life Mitchell was born in Brisbane, Queensland, to Margaret Isabel (née Gracie) and Ronald Selby Mitchell. She and her family moved to Perth when she was 13, where she attended Melville Senior High School. She went on to the University of Western Australia, receiving a Bachelor of Physical Education degree and a teaching diploma. 2008 Western Australian State Election
The 2008 Western Australian state election was held on Saturday 6 September 2008 to elect 59 members to the Legislative Assembly and 36 members to the Legislative Council. The incumbent centre-left Labor Party government, in power since the 2001 election and led since 25 January 2006 by Premier Alan Carpenter, was defeated by the centre-right Liberal Party opposition, led by Opposition Leader Colin Barnett since 6 August 2008. The election resulted in a hung parliament with no party gaining a majority. Labor was two seats short of a majority in the expanded legislature. Cheryl Lynn Edwardes (; born 1 March 1950) is a former Australian politician. She was born at Mount Hawthorn in Perth, Western Australia and was a barrister and solicitor before entering politics. In 1989 she was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly as the Liberal member for Kingsley. The Liberal Party of Australia (Western Australian Division), branded as Liberal Western Australia, is the division of the Liberal Party of Australia in Western Australia. Elections were held in the state of Western Australia on 4 February 1989 to elect all 57 members to the Legislative Assembly and all 34 members to the Legislative Council. The Labor government, led by Premier Peter Dowding, won a third term in office against the Liberal Party, led by Opposition Leader Barry MacKinnon. Woodvale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Joondalup and the City of Wanneroo. At the 2016 census Woodvale had a population of 9,276. Woodvale is bounded to the south by Whitfords Avenue, to the west by the Mitchell Freeway, to the north by Ocean Reef Road and to the east by Wanneroo Road. Hamersley is a residential suburb north-northwest of the central business district of Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and six kilometres (4 mi) from the Indian Ocean.
