Eleanor Harvey
Eleanor Harvey (born January 14, 1995) is a Canadian foil fencer from Hamilton, Ontario. Harvey won the gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto in the women's team foil event. She is also a former world junior silver medallist in the women's individual foil event. Early life Harvey became interested in becoming an Olympian while watching 2000 Sydney Games. She began training for long distance running before turning to karate at eight years ago. She trained karate for two years before realizing that karate was not an Olympic sport at that time. Harvey changed to practice fencing after a family friend heard a radio interview with Sherraine Schalm. Career Harvey qualified to represent Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics by being ranked in the top two in the Americas outside the top 14 rankings. She was coached by Paul ApSimon. The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC; french: Comité olympique canadien) is a private, non-profit organization that represents Canada at the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It is also a member of the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO). Arianna Errigo (born 6 June 1988) is an Italian left-handed foil and sabre fencer. Errigo is a nine-time team European champion, two-time individual European champion, six-time team world champion, and two-time individual world champion. Known for her aggressive and fast fencing, she is regarded as one of the greatest fencers of all time. A three-time Olympian, Errigo is a 2021 team Olympic bronze medalist, 2012 team Olympic champion, and 2012 individual Olympic silver medalist. Errigo competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Errigo is an athlete of the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri.
