Ekattor
Ekattor ( bn, একাত্তর; , in reference to the 1971 War) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable news television channel owned by the Meghna Group of Industries, commencing transmissions on 21 June 2012, as Bangladesh's first news-oriented television channel broadcasting in full HD. The channel broadcasts from its headquarters in the Sohrawardi Avenue of Baridhara. Ownership After the change of political power in 2009, Mozammel Hossain sold half of the shares owned by himself and his relatives in the name of Mustafa Kamal and his one son and two daughters in Meghna Group. Radio broadcasts commenced in what is now known as Bangladesh in 1939 under British rule, as a part of All India Radio. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 (''Bangabandhu-1'') is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite. It is named after the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 12 May 2018. Nurul Haque Nur ( bn, নুরুল হক নুর) is a Bangladeshi activist and politician. He came to prominence in 2018 as a joint-convener of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad, which led the Quota Reform Movement. In 2019, he was elected as the vice president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU). He is currently the convener of the Chatro, Jubo and Probashi Odhikar Porishod.
