Eirik Tage Johansen
Eirik Tage Johansen (born 23 May 1982) is a Norwegian professional golfer. Johansen was born in the United States, and returned to the country of his birth as a successful amateur golfer, taking up a golf scholarship at the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of the golf team. After graduating in 2006, he turned professional, and immediately won a place on the European Tour after advancing through qualifying school. After a disappointing first season, he dropped down to the second-tier Challenge Tour for 2008, but was once again successful at qualifying school at the end of that season. Johansen has retained his place on the European Tour from 2009 to 2011, although he had to return to qualifying school every year. Johansen also has four wins on the Scandinavian Nordic Golf League; the first of these was while still an amateur. Ventura, California
Ventura, officially named San Buenaventura (Spanish for "Saint Bonaventure"), is a city on the Southern Coast of California and the county seat of Ventura County. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. From 2002 the teams have been three players with two counting. The 2004, 2010 and 2012 championships were reduced to 54 holes because of bad weather. Jacques Léglise Trophy
The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. The venue generally alternates between Great Britain and Ireland and the continent. From 1958 to 1966 a similar match was played between a combined England and Scotland team and the Continent of Europe. History The event can trace its origins back to 1958. The Norwegian National Golf Championship is an annual golf tournament, played at various locations throughout Norway. It is organized by the Norwegian Golf Federation and was first played in 1956. The championship has been played as a 72-hole stroke-play event since 1968. The Norwegian Golf Tour was a developmental professional golf tour based in Norway. In the past, similar to the Danish Golf Tour and the Swedish Golf Tour, most events on the Norwegian Golf Tour schedules were incorporated into the Nordic Golf League, one of the four third-tier tours recognized by the European Tour. History The tour was founded in 2004 by the Norwegian Golf Federation and the PGA of Norway. The tour aimed to offer a series of tournaments for elite-level golfers in Norway (both amateur and professional). Eric Walter Blom (20 August 188811 April 1959) was a Swiss-born British-naturalised music lexicographer, music critic and writer. He is best known as the editor of the 5th edition of ''Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians'' (1954). Early life Blom was born in Bern, Switzerland. His father was of Danish and British descent, and his mother was Swiss. He was educated in German-speaking Switzerland,Frank Howes, "Blom, Eric (Walter)" in ''Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians'', 5th edition, Supplementary Volume, 1961 and later in England. 2015 Nordic Golf League
The 2015 Nordic Golf League was the 17th season of the Nordic Golf League, one of four third-tier tours recognised by the European Tour. In July, it was announced that all Nordic Golf League events, beginning with the Master Promo Open, would receive Official World Golf Ranking points at the minimum level of 4 points for a winner of a 54-hole event. With the exception of a four-event Winter Series held in Spain and the Ecco German Masters, all tournaments were held in Norway, Sweden, Finland, or Denmark. Thomas Nørret
Thomas Nørret (born 17 February 1974) is a Danish professional golfer. Career Nørret turned professional in 1999 at the relatively late age of 25, having spent time studying in both Denmark and the United States. He immediately joined the second-tier Challenge Tour and found instant success, posting two runners-up finishes in his debut season and finishing 25th in the final standings, just outside the automatic qualifiers for the European Tour. Nørret became a Challenge Tour regular over the following seasons, claiming his first win in 2002 at the Volvo Finnish Open after a six-month break, but never improved on his 1999 performance, and in 2009 he took a break from tournament golf to manage young players, returning only for a few events in 2006 and 2009.
