Eino Kalpala
Eino Kalpala (5 August 1926 – 12 August 2022) was a Finnish alpine skier who competed in the 1952 Winter Olympics. Kalpala has also been a world champion veteran alpine skier. Eino Kalpala also participated in the rally of a thousand lakes with his brother Osmo Kalpal. He turned 90 in August 2016. Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings.
