Egil Lothe
Egil Lothe (11 May 1908 – 1990) was a Norwegian economist and civil servant. He was born in Bergen as a son of teacher Sjur Mikkelsen Lothe (1870–1941) and Sigrid Alvsaker. In 1940 he married ceramicist Gro Skavlan Arneberg (1911–1964), a daughter of renowned architect Arnstein Arneberg. He finished secondary school in 1927 and graduated from the Royal Frederick University with the cand.oecon. degree in 1930. He worked as a secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 1939, and later in the Ministry of Provisioning and Reconstruction from 1945 to 1948. From 1948 to 1955 he was an assistant secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Bergen
Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. The municipality covers and is on the peninsula of Bergenshalvøyen. The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order. Bærum () is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Norway that forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Bærum is Norway's fifth largest municipality with a population of 128,760 (2021). It is part of the electoral district and historical county of Akershus and of the newer Viken County.
