Egil Bakke
Egil Bakke (27 September 1927 – 16 July 2022) was a Norwegian civil servant. Life and career Egil Bakke was born in Horten. Having graduated as cand.oecon. (master in economics), he worked in the Ministry of Finance from 1954 to 1971, in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Administration from 1972 to 1974 and in the Federation of Norwegian Industries (a precursor to the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise) from 1974 to 1983. From 1983 to 1995 he served as director of the Norwegian Price Directorate. Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke. The town of Horten was separated from the municipality of Borre to become a municipality of its own in 1858. The neighboring municipalities of Borre and Horten were merged back together on 1 January 1988. The name of the new united municipality was first ''Borre'', but after a referendum it was changed to ''Horten'' on 1 June 2002. The local newspaper in Horten is named Gjengangeren, and covers mostly local news. It is also available online (see external links section). Einar Hope
Einar Hope (born 13 July 1937) is a Norwegian economist. He was born in Masfjorden. Having graduated as siviløkonom, he was employed at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration from 1978 to 1990, before being CEO of the Foundation for Research in Economics and Business Administration from 1991 to 1995. From 1995 to 1999 he served as director of the Norwegian Competition Authority. From 1999 to 2005 he was professor of energy economics at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. Rolf Skår
Rolf Skår (born 13 May 1941) is a Norwegian engineer. He was born in Karmøy as the son of a farmer and fisherman. In 1966 Skår graduated from Norwegian Institute of Technology where he studied under Prof. Balchen. During his studies he had several periods abroad. In the summer of 1963 he went to Switzerland to work for an electrical products manufacturer. The following year he took part in the CERN Summer Student Programme working with digital technology and during the summer 1965 he worked for NATO Saclant in La Spezia, Italy. He was a co-founder of the computer manufacturing company Norsk Data in 1967, and CEO of the company from 1978 to 1989. He was CEO of the Norwegian Space Centre from 1998 to 2006. Kjeld Rimberg
Kjeld Rimberg (born 25 November 1943) is a Norway, Norwegian businessperson. Personal life Rimberg was born in Bergen on 25 November 1943, a son of Sverre Johan Rimberg and Eli Lien. He married architect Reidun Tvedt in 1965. Early career Rimberg is from Nordnes in Bergen, and was an avid skier and ski-instructor in his youth. He worked as instructor in Switzerland for some time, combined with studies in Zurich. He took his education in construction engineering at ETH Zürich before graduating from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1969. He was active in the Student Society in Trondheim, and worked as a research assistant at the Norwegian Institute of Technology as well as a researcher for NTNF for five years. Charles Philipson
Charles Philipson (5 October 1928 – 26 September 1990) was a Norwegian jurist, civil servant (acting Consumer Ombudsman, and director of the Norwegian Competition Authority), and Supreme Court justice. Career Philipson graduated as jurist in 1952. From 1952 to 1953 he was assigned secretary in the Norwegian Price Directorate, and was then assistant judge in Lier, Røyken and Hurum. He then conducted further studies at Harvard Law School, graduating as Master of Laws. From 1958 to 1972 he was appointed at the Office of the Attorney General of Norway, from 1961 barrister with access to working with Supreme Court cases. In 1973 he was appointed judge at Oslo District Court. He served as acting Consumer Ombudsman from 1974 to 1975. In 1976 he was back at Oslo District Court, and was then appointed director of the Norwegian Competition Authority from 1977 to 1983.
