Egidijus Kūris
Egidijus Kūris (born 1961 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian judge, professor and PhD in law. He is the former President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania and current representative justice for Lithuania to the European Court of Human Rights. Egidijus Kūris graduated from the Faculty of Law in Vilnius University in 1984, where he continued to work as a lecturer until 1994. Egidijus Kūris defended his doctoral thesis in 1988. After Lithuania regained independence, Kūris worked on the preparation of the Constitution of Lithuania, which was adopted in 1992 after the referendum. During the same year, Egidijus Kūris became the Director of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science at Vilnius University. He held this position until 1999. From 1993 till 1997 he also worked as an Assistant to the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania. Danutė Jočienė
Danutė Jočienė (maiden name ''Sadauskaitė'', born November 10, 1970 in Tučiai, Mažeikiai, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian lawyer. Jočienė graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and worked as a lecturer in the Department of the International and European Union Law of the Faculty. She was agent of the Lithuanian government for the European Court of Human Rights from 2003 to November 2004. Jočienė's professional work has been in the field of human rights law, and she was appointed as a judge and reporter from Lithuania to the second section of the European Court of Human Rights in 2004. She was member of this court up until 2013. In 2014, Jočienė was appointed to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania. In 2021, she was appointed to the Court's chairman position and thus, Jočienė became first chairwoman to lead the Constitutional Court. The European Court of Justice (ECJ, french: Cour de Justice européenne), formally just the Court of Justice, is the supreme court of the European Union in matters of European Union law.
