There have been two baronetcies created for persons with the surname Gray, one in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia and one in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. One creation is extant as of 2007. The Gray Baronetcy, of Denne Hill, a property in east Kent, was created in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia on 5 March 1707 for James Gray. The second Baronet was admitted to the Privy Council in 1769. The title became extinct on the death of the third Baronet in 1773. ''Ladette to Lady'' is a reality-based series that aired in the United Kingdom on ITV between June 2005 and August 2010. Overview The second series of ''Ladette to Lady'' was aired in the United Kingdom in October 2006 on ITV. The show had viewing figures of 4.45 million to 5.41 million, winning its timeslot each week. A third series followed in 2008, although it was originally planned to air in 2007. ''Ladette to Lady'' was cancelled by ITV on 11 April 2008, but returned in June 2009, featuring Australian, rather than British, ladettes. The series featured the original staff and school. ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). 4th Queen's Own Hussars
The 4th Queen's Own Hussars was a cavalry regiment in the British Army, first raised in 1685. It saw service for three centuries, including the First World War and the Second World War. It amalgamated with the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, to form the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars in 1958. History Formation and early history The regiment was first raised by the Hon. John Berkeley as The Princess Anne of Denmark's Regiment of Dragoons in 1685, as part of the response to the Monmouth Rebellion by the regimenting of various independent troops, and ranked as the 4th Dragoons. The regiment transferred its allegiance to King William III in February 1689 and fought the depleted forces of James II in Scotland later that year. A finishing school focuses on teaching young women social graces and upper-class cultural rites as a preparation for entry into society. William Gray & Company Ltd. was a British shipbuilding company located in West Hartlepool, County Durham, in North East England. Founded in 1863 by John Denton and William Gray as a partnership, it became a private and then a public limited company under the leadership of three generations of the Gray family until finally wound up in 1962.
