Eg (Kristiansand)
Eg is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is the only neighborhood in the borough that is located outside of the downtown city centre of Kristiansand (being about north of the downtown). The main hospital for all of Southern Norway, Sørlandet Hospital Kristiansand, is located on the north side of Eg. Eg is located between the river Otra and the Baneheia park. The name Eg comes from ''Eik'' (meaning "Oak"), because of the thick oakwood which can still be found in the area. Some of the oldest settlements in Kristiansand are in the area of Eg. When the Kristiansand area was only farmland, one of the four largest farms was located at Eg. The others were located at Gimle, Grim, and Kjos. Today, there is an elementary school and a kindergarten located at Eg. The neighbourhood is mostly apartments. Eg is served by bus line 12 from Kjos Haveby to the hospital. Sørlandet Hospital Kristiansand
Sørlandet Hospital Kristiansand (Norwegian:Sørlandet Sykehus Kristiansand) is located in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder County in Norway, and is one of the three public hospitals within the Hospital of Southern Norway and is a regional hospital. It was previously called Kristiansand Sentralsykehus and was located in Tordenskjoldsgate in Kvadraturen (the city center). Most of the hospital moved to Eg, north of downtown in the 1980s, where there already was a psychiatric hospital (Eg Hospital). Lista
Lista is a former municipality located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. The administrative centre was the village of Vanse where Vanse Church is located. Lista municipality was historically known as the municipality of ''Vanse'' until 1911. The former municipality's land is now located in the present-day municipality of Farsund in Agder county. Grim, Kristiansand
Grim is a borough in the city of Kristiansand which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The borough has a population of about 16,000 people and is the second least populated borough in Kristiansand. Grim is located in the northwestern part of the municipality, north of Vågsbygd borough, northwest of Kvadraturen borough, and west of Lund borough. Gimle is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located in the borough of Lund. It is located near the neighborhoods of Oddemarka and Presteheia. The neighborhood of Kjøita lies to the southwest and the neighborhood of Marvika lies to the southeast. The oldest building in Kristiansand, Oddernes Church, as well as the Agder Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden, the Kristiansand campus of the University of Agder, the Kristiansand Cathedral School, the ''Gimle videregående skole'' (high school), and the Gimle sports hall are located within the neighborhood of Gimle. Baneheia
Baneheia is a recreational area in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The park is mostly known at the national level from the Baneheia case as the scene of a notorious murder of two girls ages 8 and 10 that took place in 2000. The area lies just north of the centre of the city of Kristiansand and it has hills, lakes, and forest. The Ravnedalen Park lies just to the northwest of Baneheia. Otra
The Otra is the largest river in the Sørlandet region of Norway. It begins in Setesdalsheiene mountains at the lake Breidvatnet in Bykle municipality in Agder county, just south of the border with Vinje municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county. The river then flows south through Bykle, Valle, Bygland, Evje og Hornnes, Iveland, Vennesla, and Kristiansand municipalities. The river empties into the Skagerrak in the center of the city of Kristiansand on the southern coast of Norway. The Otra is long, making it Norway's eighth-longest river.
